I found this and am hoping this is an ok place to share this-
http://www.iespell.com/
I think it is a free download but they do ask for donations.
I've noticed a lot of people commenting that they wanted spell check in the past and thought I'd share this. If it works, it might be something others would be interested in.
I don't know how to use it but it looks as if people who use IE can spell check if they want somehow by right clicking if they download this program.
I wonder if it could be "trained" to accept Latin names of plants somehow. That would be nice. Those always fly under the wire on Mozilla's spell check.
Spell Chcek for IE
I found out how to use it. You highlight what ever you typed and then right click and a spell check comes up.
I will have to try it tonight.
Hi equilibrium, I have spell check for many years now, and I don't remember having it downloaded consciously, I think it just came with an update. It is a button in the IE toolbar.
However it doesn't recognize Latin Plant names, but I find it very useful anyway.
Here is a picture of my screen where I show where the button is located. Of course as I live in Belgium, the language of the button isn't English. Mine has 12 language possibilities, plus the possibility of it recognizing automatic the language you're typing in. When I click on the button it screens the whole text I've been typing and highlight in red what is supposed to be misspelled and it gives suggestions how it should be.
That's really neat! I didn't know there was one spell check let alone two for IE until I ran into the one I posted by accident. I'd post a screen shot... but I don't know how.
Equilibrium, If you have a digital camera, it is easy to make a picture of your screen, then download on your pc and that's all!
Equilibrium, the easy to save a screen shot - press (alt & print screen) at the same time,
left click start, go to programs, go to accessories go to paint left click, press (ctrl & V) at the same time, left click file, then save as - name the file, and remember where you are saving it too.The "screen shot" can be be viewed by opening this file or sent as a normal pic.
Oh oh oh! I'm going to have to try the fancy way Dyson mentioned later on tonight. The camera is how I've been cheating in the past.... I call that the ultimate screen shot!
Babes in the woods !!!
I thought we all knew that one Eqi ?
That's a pretty neat trick. Good job Equil!!
OK, I'm just cutting and pasting this so that I can show you all that I figured out how to use this ie spell check.

You basically download and install the program. Then you highlight what ever you want to spell check, then right click on your mouse and when the drop down menu appears, click on the option for Check Spelling. The box comes up and you can do your thing!
Say Pepper, Dyson taught me! I only learned how to hi-light, cut & paste, and such just a few years ago! I be happening now!
IE has a built in spell check right on the tool bar. Just add your Latin plants names to the dictionary and it will check them from then on.
Duh, right on the tool bar? No kidding. I feel like such an idiot now and particularly since I'm too lazy to spell check. I only posted that because so many people ask about spell check.
Say, where is it on the tool bar? I'm going to uninstall the one I just added and use the one you mentioned instead if I need to. I must admit, I'm too lazy to add the Latin names of plants to any spell check but I would like to use a spell check when I feel I'm starting to get slap happy over tired. I've read some of my posts when I've been typing while "impaired" and I've had to go back and edit a few or post a correction so they were readable.
On mine it is right below the address bar. On the same bar as google Autolink auto fill etc. It is labeled abc check.
I am looking up above and I see the words File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools, and Help under the address bar. Do I need to click on one of those to get to the spell check?
I looked and I couldn't find spell check either on there. So how do we find it on there?
You know what I find rather amusing? Look up at the title of this thread. Look real close at how I spelled the word check.
Jsut shkanig my haed hree .
Waht can one say ?
Not mcuh ;)
LOL. Didn't notice it til you said something.
