Which regional forums should I join, I'm in the Gulf States.

I'm in south Alabama and was looking for a regional forum but none of them really fit. The closest I could find was mid-south. I asked there and welcomed me to stay or suggested I request a forum for the Gulf States regions since we have similar gardening issues. I feel kinda silly asking since I'm new here but figured I had nothing to lose. So what do y'all think?

You know what they say...the only silly question is the one you don't ask. Sometimes the answers are a little slow to come. My opinion, if mid-south is friendly and you feel comfortable, then hang out there. Maybe someday a Gulf States will be available and you can hang out in both of them.

I can see the need for a new forum, unfortunately it is not too easy to get Admin to agree to create one. In order to get the Mid-South forum created there had to be interested expressed on the original thread. I spent many hours dmailing everyone in the tri-state (TN, AR, MS) area asking if they would be interested and if so to post on the thread. Finally there was enough interest, but it took many weeks and a lot of hard work on my part.

Since the Mid-South Forum is so very busy and includes many LA residents perhaps instead of a Gulf States Forum, the name should be Deep South Forum. I suspect there are many in the lower parts of GA, AL, LA, MS who would post on a forum of this nature.

Judy that is a grand idea. There is certainly a need for those in the subtropical zones especially those that would like to push the zone limits and would like feedback from others. I sure hope someone pursues this. I am not included in these zones as I am more midsouth zone. I wouldn't mind getting to know more people on Daves as in roundups. This year I am sponsoring a La roundup in the northern part of the state. Next year I think there is a real need for a La roundup to be more southern.

That is one southern place I would love to visit. You never know matey I just might knock on your door one day.
