It must be love!

What fun to find heart shaped things in nature.

One of our trees was rotting in the trunk, so I
took a garden hose to blast out the rotting section
to see how bad it was.

When I finished rinsing it out, this is what
I noticed, so I ran for the camera:

Wuvie, are you going to plant this great find or leave it as a conversation piece...

Pacifica, CA

wuvie,

how exciting to find that
nature is incredible

Hi Betty and Liz,

The tree is still standing, so I will leave it there
until it rots away, I guess. It has the perfect nook
for a plant now. Maybe some Petunias?

Here is the other one. Hubby cut down a Mimosa
tree out front and this is actually what shape it was in:

Wuvie, if it's large enough I'd have that part of the tree cut in thick slabs and put them as stepping stones in the garden (wood stones....lol)...

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Oh, I would love that, but after the storm we had and the
trees hubby had to cut up, I'm not so sure he would be willing.

;-)

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Today's latest find?

I was walking along in the drive where hubby often
uses the tractor. Laying flat in the dirt, partially missing,
was this leaf:

Wuvie...was that a cement leaf? Heart shaped once again - karma must be telling you something!!

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Betty,

Isn't that odd, it does look like a concrete casting, but
it was an actual leaf laying just like that, I didn't touch a
thing on it, just took a few shots and this one turned out best.

I kick myself in the butt because one day I saw a heart shaped
fungus / mushroom (whatever) and when I visited the next day
with camera in hand, it was gone.

:-(

Victoria Harbour, ON

I was so sure it was a cement casting..you must live in a 'lover's paradise' so many hearts that surround you!!!

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

That leaf picture reminds me of an old Janis Joplin song: ..."take another little piece of my heart..." LOL

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Ah, yet another heart shaped item to show!

This yellow squash was grown in our garden. It is apparently a
deformed Siamese growth of some sort, but still has that cute heart
shape, I think.

Wuvie, there surely must be a reason for you getting all these 'heart shaped' items...
never heard of such finds...mother nature is trying to tell you something...

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Aw, shucks, Betty. I think so, too! Stay tuned, I'm always on the lookout!

Oh, and over by my mother's house, there is a tree with a deformity
at the base. Funny thing is, her kitchen is decorated in apples, and the
tree by her new house is a deformity shaped like an apple! I'll try to get
a pic today.

:-)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sure wish I knew how one could tell what possible meaning it might have...

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Maybe too much acid in the soil? LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

No/No/No..am sure it has a special meaning for you...now who could we ask????

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Aw, Betty, I think it means I spend too much time looking in the dirt.
Honestly. I guess I'm just very observant in nature. One of those kind of
people who look at psychological ink spots and see an elephant. Ha ha!

Victoria Harbour, ON

love must be in the air where you live..everything is growing in 'hearts'...lol

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Ooo, maybe I'd have better luck in OK? Nothin' happenin' here in KY. LOL Send your extras my way, WUVIE!

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

Wuvie
you sure do get to the heart of things .
LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

that's cute...

Wuvie,

How kool with the "hearts"!!! I agree with Bettypauze re: the tree stepping "stones"---gotta do it!

"...Love is all around you, come on and feel it grow..."? (Isn't that from an "old" song???...the Troggs??? yeeks, now that'll be rambling around in my head the rest of the day!!!)

wuvie - I love all your hearts and I think I can find a few around here to add to the collection.

Did you change your location description? It seems to be changing the column sizes.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Neat shots! You're blessed to have so much love surrounding you. :)

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

TGIF, Whoops! Thank you so much for noticing that. It was
indeed stretching the column sizes.

Thanks, all. Sure do like finding those heart shaped things. Always
have the camera handy just in case.

Update, found another heart shaped item!

Walking about the garden, I found numerous deer tracks.
When I ran to the house for the camera, it began to rain, so
I had to wait until it stopped for a picture.

This is what I found:

(deer stepped right next to a rock)

Wuvie, tell you what, there has to be some meaning to these heart shaped objects that you find...wish I knew how to find out..might be a pleasant surprise....

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Wow--I've seen lots of deer prints out here, but never one so obviously heart-shaped! Cool!

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Couldn't resist this one. It is a Black Walnut shell.
They all look like this, but I've been meaning to add
a pic to this thread:

Great! And ya know what? It also reminds me of the barn owl's face that lives here!

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Very true!

In fact, I put several of them into a tree nook filled
with moss and thought it would be cute to put eyes and
a little clay nose on them, too...making owls! :-)

Great minds think alike, yes?

Starkville, MS

Just had to throw this one in. I hadn't notice the heart shape of the grass until I loaded the pic onto the computer!

Wuvie, I'm going outside today, walking the property or areas I'll travel and just see if perhaps I can find a special 'heart'

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Betty,

I think my problem is that I walk with my head down.
Not for shame, but because I'm always checking things
out down there. LOL. That is how I find these things.

There are so many people out there who know me, but
I don't know them. I'll meet someone in town who acts as
though we're the best of friends, but I don't know them from
Jack. That is because I am always out in the garden looking
down. They drive by and honk just in time for me to see the
vehicle, but I don't know who it was. Then when I run into someone
in town, I have to ask what they drive.

Oh, you're the blue truck guy...or you must be the white car lady.

Ha! Ha!

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

LOL, yes, Wuvie, make the owls and post a pic! That would be fun!

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

This morning I opened the multiple rock tumblers which are
often in gear around our house. After rinsing off the rocks,
this little number popped out:

The rock is sort of like volcanic / sandstone if there is such
a thing.

I thought it was cute & worth adding to this thread.

Wuvie, I just have to say that before I opened that pic, I thought it was a belly button! LOL Very nice heart rock you have there. (I'm glad it wasn't your belly button! LOL)

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Ha ha ha!

Nope, you won't ever see my belly button showing.
Maybe when I was a teenager, but definitely not now.

;-)

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Mine either! LOL
