Hey thanks to everyone working on the plant data base. It is definitely a help. If anyone has any tips on harvesting seeds from plants that would be helpful too.

Plant Database
I posted tips on harvesting seeds for tomatoes. Look under 'federle tomatoes'.
There is a section for harvesting seeds for each plant entered - it just depends on if anyone has entered that section in for the plant you're looking for.
If you have any sections you want to add to any existing plant entry - have at it!! We'd love any help anyone can offer!

Also see crepe myrtle (lagerstroemia indica) for seed harvesting information, for another example.
Hmm, now that I look again, a lot of other plants already have seed gathering info.
Rachel, I added harvesting seed to any plant that I have actually harvested from. Some I will be harvesting so should be able to add more. Others I have the plants but have never harvest seed from and don't know for sure (just started harvesting seeds this summer). As Dave said please add any info you have. :) I also haven't added any picutres but I do have a digital camera so hopefully this spring/summer/fall I'll be adding a bunch. If you have any pictures now though, that would be great! ;)
Thanks for the info. I am a new gardner so I am hoping next fall I will have lots to harvest so I can share with others.
Thanks to poppy sue for how to germinate from seed and harvesting seeds tips. It is very helpful for us newbies.
I too am new at this and will be adding photos and information on my first hand experience this year with germination (114 varieties I have never tried), pictures to upload to any entries with these varieties, and harvesting seed from these plants. I should have quite a diary and loads of info this time next year (I hope!) I have entered a couple of herbs entries that I have actually got some experience in. I also plant to add others as I gain experience with them.
when the database gets in, I'll be hooking it into our havelists, etc, so it will be easier to add stuff to your list.
You'll just go to the plants database and click something like "Add this to my want-list" or whatever, and it'll take care of the rest.
Then, when people look at your have-list, they can click right to that entry in the plants database and get the benefit of the work everyone has done.
