Amazing picture, Joanne! Nice blooms!
Wow Joanne that's awesome!! You grow girl!!
Blessings,

Joanne, high five girl, serpens is such a little cutie pie.
Christine, awesome flower, and you couldn't give yourself a better birthday gift.
Awesome, you fabulous ladies ... just awesome!
After much babying and constant checking of soil dryness, I finally got my Publicalyx cv Silver Pink to keep its buds. Here's one of it yesterday morning, just peeking out into the world... quite a few of the buds were open by last night, and making a very nice smell with drops of nectar waiting.... I almost feel bad that it's not outside, tantalising the moths!
Nice, Hills!
How kewl Christina...I owe you mail...soon soon.....
Christina, as usual those are fantastic photos! Beautiful blooms! Can you tell me anything about your walliniana? What kind of conditions it grows and blooms in? Thanks and God bless. -joanne
Thanks Joanne! I don't know if I AM doing everything right with my walliniana. The flowers never really recurved like they are supposed to... Oh well, there are more umbels growing so perhaps next time!
I have my plant in a bright window with morning sun, but it's a little shaded by a mosquito net. I treat it like all other hoyas = water when they feel / look dry. I've read that walliniana is an easy bloomer and I can only say that it seems true.
Here's the aff. hellwigiana fully opened.
Walliniana, for me, grows very much like H. lacunosa, H. obscura...very fragrant too.
I love looking at these pics. When I get cuttings, I look here to see the flowers.
Dawn
My carnosa, which flowered for the first time last year, is back again with a whole heap of peduncles, one of which opened for me last week. Now I have the carnosa making downstairs smell nice and the publicalyx making upstairs smell nice!!!
Hills, in a VERY soggy UK (but it's ok, cos we like rain...)
And my ever bloomin' lacunosa (plant to the left of my carnosa, which is yet to bloom).
My pachyclada is in bud again and my kentiana has 7 peduncles setting bud (first time bloomer for me, and it only had 1 peduncle on it a month ago!)....so hopefully I'll get to post those on a "June flowers" thread :)
Oh, and my obscura cutting that I just received from my generous swap friend not only rooted, but has developed 2 peduncles...yay!
I really enjoy seeing everyone's blooms. Gorgeous pics everyone!!

Christina, that's a really nice shot. I always thought the flowers of sigillatis were kind of dull, but they look a lot more interesting close up. Is sigillatis a good grower/bloomer for you?
Finally, after many blasted buds I got an open umbel on this plant. Labeled as H. vitellina, Carol is this still correct? Some pics I am finding online don't match.
Edited to say sorry about the question, I went back and read what had been discussed earlier on this plant. Apparently it is fuscomarginata, I will change the label.

A new one: H. sp. aff. finlaysonii. This surprised me by opening so quickly- I thought the buds would have another week or so. The flowers are also quite small, about 1/4" wide when fully open. The odor- I think fragrance is too kind a word- is truly awful. Like that cup of year old yogurt you found in the back of the fridge after wondering what that stink was for the last week. And that's during the day! Maybe it will smell better when night falls, or maybe it will just stink more expansively.
