Awesome, you fabulous ladies ... just awesome!

After much babying and constant checking of soil dryness, I finally got my Publicalyx cv Silver Pink to keep its buds. Here's one of it yesterday morning, just peeking out into the world... quite a few of the buds were open by last night, and making a very nice smell with drops of nectar waiting.... I almost feel bad that it's not outside, tantalising the moths!

Christina, as usual those are fantastic photos! Beautiful blooms! Can you tell me anything about your walliniana? What kind of conditions it grows and blooms in? Thanks and God bless. -joanne

Trelleborg, Sweden

Thanks Joanne! I don't know if I AM doing everything right with my walliniana. The flowers never really recurved like they are supposed to... Oh well, there are more umbels growing so perhaps next time!

I have my plant in a bright window with morning sun, but it's a little shaded by a mosquito net. I treat it like all other hoyas = water when they feel / look dry. I've read that walliniana is an easy bloomer and I can only say that it seems true.

Here's the aff. hellwigiana fully opened.

Finally!! After three years of no flowers, my obovata is finally in bloom. I'm thrilled.

Walliniana, for me, grows very much like H. lacunosa, H. obscura...very fragrant too.

I love looking at these pics. When I get cuttings, I look here to see the flowers.

What beautiful flowers you have everyone! Congratulations. And, as always, breathtaking pictures!

Gladly I have some Hoyas flowering too and I'm specially happy about my H. imperialis.

I have a first time bloomer too, H. aff. benguetensis. At this picture it is still opening up. The corolla is recurved when it is fully opened.

My carnosa, which flowered for the first time last year, is back again with a whole heap of peduncles, one of which opened for me last week. Now I have the carnosa making downstairs smell nice and the publicalyx making upstairs smell nice!!!
Hills, in a VERY soggy UK (but it's ok, cos we like rain...)

And I thought I'd put the publicalyx flower next to the carnosa... I have to say, the publicalyx is far "sexier"!!!!

One of my very favorites!!! H. pubicalyx 'Bright One' - the leaves are SO dark green and the flowers really 'bright'.

H. doliocosparte...sorry it is so dark. The umbel is quite large and it has been blooming now for about a month.

This is a H. pubicalyx 'Pink Silver' growing up a palm tree in full sun. Notice the leaves at the top, more shade, don't look so burned...but boy does it bloom!!!

Here is a NOID of mine, the wayettii/kentiana/?? hoya, blooming for the first time. Only three buds open so far.

Well, I didn't think I'd be able to post on this May flower thread, but my Bella FINALLY opened its 2 umbels...here's one

And here's my multiflora with 3 umbels open...I lost all but 4 flowers on the 3rd umbel (not visible from this angle) to my killer vacuum cleaner...

Close-up of one of the multiflora umbels...I love how the white color just pops against my burgundy wall (I've been watching too much HGTV!

And my ever bloomin' lacunosa (plant to the left of my carnosa, which is yet to bloom).
My pachyclada is in bud again and my kentiana has 7 peduncles setting bud (first time bloomer for me, and it only had 1 peduncle on it a month ago!)....so hopefully I'll get to post those on a "June flowers" thread :)
Oh, and my obscura cutting that I just received from my generous swap friend not only rooted, but has developed 2 peduncles...yay!
I really enjoy seeing everyone's blooms. Gorgeous pics everyone!!

Nice flowers everyone!

Here's the second umbel in my sigillatis. The first one never really fully opened up... for some reason.

Christina, that's a really nice shot. I always thought the flowers of sigillatis were kind of dull, but they look a lot more interesting close up. Is sigillatis a good grower/bloomer for you?

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

Here is my kentiana/wayetti bloom now fully open, two more coming. Does anyone know how to tell which one this is? I have looked at pics of both and they look the same to me.

Thanks Mark! Sigillatis hangs in a window where it gets plenty of sun and the leaves are almost completely red. It seems to like it there, but I have to water it more often than others... I got my cutting two years ago and this is the plant a few days before the last flowers opened up.

Finally, after many blasted buds I got an open umbel on this plant. Labeled as H. vitellina, Carol is this still correct? Some pics I am finding online don't match.

Edited to say sorry about the question, I went back and read what had been discussed earlier on this plant. Apparently it is fuscomarginata, I will change the label.

Also have lacunosa open again...

A new one: H. sp. aff. finlaysonii. This surprised me by opening so quickly- I thought the buds would have another week or so. The flowers are also quite small, about 1/4" wide when fully open. The odor- I think fragrance is too kind a word- is truly awful. Like that cup of year old yogurt you found in the back of the fridge after wondering what that stink was for the last week. And that's during the day! Maybe it will smell better when night falls, or maybe it will just stink more expansively.
