Very nice Pirl. Do you know which it is?
April snow storms bring May flowers!
Not really. I must have planted it years ago and it's just blooming now.
Worth the wait! Very nice color.
Great fence! How many different plants of that white one are there?
Sorry, Victor, we cross posted. Just one of clematis Montana Grandiflora. It's a thug but a pretty one.
Could the first one be Kilian Donahue?
http://www.bluestoneperennials.com/b/bp/CLKIP.html
Could be, but Pirl's is not nearly as two-tone. At least not at the point of the photo.
Very nice gram. The Dr. makes house calls!
I only hope my Dr. Ruppel looks as good in future years, gram. I just planted it a few weeks ago.
It's not Kilian, Dave. I'd have remembered the name since my kids have names beginning with K.
I checked my gardening records and it did bloom in 2003 and I had question marks as to the name. Our local horticulturist said the two most common errors with cultivars are found with clematis and astilbe. The grower believes he's growing one kind and there may be seeds of another mixed in with it.
I just ordered this one, Oshomiro, through a friend in Canada and it's her picture. It sounds like a dreaded disease, doesn't it?
"Oh no, poor Pirl has Oshomiro!"
pirl, seeing that pic I understand why you ordered it. beautiful!
The real thing is gorgeous. I'll ask her to post her photo instead of my picture of her photo.
It's very different too.
Naturally, I don't have the slightest idea where it will go but after seeing the photo I knew I had to have it.
Yes - that's real nice. I may 'have' to get it. I just planted Dr. Ruppel too.
Now thats a beautiful Clematis!! I agree w/gram.....can see why you had to have it.
Thank you for posting all the photos, Cheryl.
Gorgeous! Thanks. Now I must have it.
All of the clematis are beautiful but the Omoshiro is exceptional. Will it grow in zone 5?
Listed as zone 4 - 9. It's a group 2.
Grammy, I think we need a new thread.
And some actual storms!!! Getting dry around here.
Too dry! We need rain every night from 10 PM to 4 AM - a/k/a Camelot.
Dave - why don't we call it - "June Flowers Are Bustin' Out All Over!" Comes from my music backgound! It can be a continuation of this thread - anything goes.
Sounds good grammy June!
I'll link in the new thread for you Gramy

Anita - what names are you in to now?
Beautiful clematis, everyone. Omoshiro is really really beautiful, Pirl and 2zeus.
Anita - is that blue clematis - the last one true to color in the pic? If so that is really nice. could see that climbing a yellow blooming shrub or with yellow iris or even climbing the yellow leaved spireas.
Actually all the clematis on this thread are just beautiful. I keep thinking of planting some of the smaller ones among shrubs or even to see if they would go along the ground.
Yes, which is that Anita?
sorry folks - I just realized we are supposed to be on the June thread! see ya there
I'll answer in the June thread.....
