I am glad to hear the great news that Evert is visiting your country. Not a long time ago, when Evert was celebrating his birthday, he told me he would fly over to the USA for a short visit. hehehe Now his dream comes true. Great news indeed! Diana, when and if you meet the little guy from Finland, do remember me to say Hi and hello to him and his mother. I am waiting to hear more.

Roadrunner,
The young man is our old friend in here. Isn't it a thrill to have a chance to meet him in person. hehehe Maybe some day I can invite him to China to our school to meet our school children. The earth is becoming smaller and smaller nowadays.

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

Hi again all..
Made it back home fine but I don't want to fly for a moment, got too much of it.. :D
My week in Boston was just great, and the US wasn't exactly as I had thought. Cool combination of different places. I really miss Discovery Channel that I used to watch on tv before going to bed every night. :D

I wish I had known you 2 were coming to the airport, Diana :( I didn't hear anyone calling my name, I might have been on the tram or toilet or somewhere. And anyways, the airport was really big..

v That's me at the airport.. :) v

We were about a block behind you on that picture...of you...lol...We had your flag...and your name on a square...of cardboard...but..oh well...lol...

Yep next time..

Smiles...Diana...

What a shame you didn't manage to catch up with Evert.
Maybe next time like you say, Diana!! Sounds like you made every effort with the Flag and name card.
:(
Glad to hear you had a good visit in the States, Evert. Nothing ever seems to be exactly what it is on the TV! LOL
There is always a next time and plenty of other places to see in the States

Hope you had a Great May Day....
Share some of your photos when you get a chance.

:)

I still hope to see the bluebonnet fields of Texas one day..

May Day was rough (:D), but weather was ok. It was warm when we left but now it's been raining, and it's a bit cold. Spring is a bit ahead of Massachusetts here anyway.

That's from the library in Boston I went to with my laptop to use their free wireless internet.. ;)

Nothing against Boston, mind you (never been there) but too bad you couldn't have visited a more rural area of the US....there's such a difference between the two!

Yes, next time.... right!!??

Too bad you two weren't able to meet, but good try, Diana! (Were you really that close?!)

I admit...our family would have a hard time without the Discovery Channel, too!

*snif*.....our little boy from about 6 years ago has grown up!!

Now Evert....are you taking GOOD care of that driver's license?

Jo

Jerome, MI(Zone 5b)

Aw, Evert...yes you are going up..heheh and guess what..I am growing older..haha...Yes Texas would be nice.. Your card was great thanks..but it took a week to get here...but that happens sometimes..if you mail from a Hotel...but I got it...that was nice..

Well Nan...we were at security...and I could see past it..and see Everts...picture..of the trame?
Well...I am sure..that side was huge..but..I could see blue sky..way down...maybe it had turns..going right...but I think we were not far away...hehehe...No way could I yell..hahah..they would have arrested me for sure...I had a bag of goodies..for him..but..guess they will wait...till next time...lol...I had taken my handy-capped..cart...a little three wheel red one...hehe..the kind you see on tv...and there I sat...with the Finland Flag..and the poster board...Saying welcome Evert...to USA..hahah...had a lot of lookers..I am sure...so many countries...passed me by...

Well next time ...Or someone from Texas..if he gets there...More pictures..hehe...Well I think..maybe he has not seen such...big..huge buildings..too...and really new one...modern design...but maybe he has..lol...Evert do you watch Boston Legal?...Tv show? hehehe...you have seen them in person now...yeppy....I think it was great you got here...more to come..then....

Evert,
Glad you come back home with wonderful pictures.
If I had such an opportunity of visiting the USA,
I would like to spend more time in the country,
enjoying the beautiful country life.

Nice setting of the scene Jianhua. Who took that picture? Is that your bike? What a tranquil location... I love it too.

Compared with Evert's metropolitan pictures, mine are of country style.
School has a four-day Labor Day holiday, so I consider having a money-saving, not, a money-free travel. So I rode on my ASS, nickname for bicycle, all the way to the stream beyond my village. and this picture was taken during my stiing on a tree stump by the stream. I hired a little boy playing nearby to finish the job. hehehe For the other two pictures, click http://davesgarden.com/journal/d/t/Jianhua/5788/

I also have an ASS that I feed oil and air.
It takes me where I want, occasionally, but the elder brother ASS asks petrol. This ASS runs faster, even carrying two of us and our daughter in the front.

I checked the link to your ASS ride by the waterside.

OOOOOOOH I can identify with the "dipping feet"!! Nothing feels better on a sunny day! Jo

Nan, I'd love to, but you know - you can't do everything you want to.. No time, no money. :(
How many of you has visited Europe? ;)

Jo, yep.. I drive every day. ;) No accidents so far. Just two parking tickets (haha :D)

I left your card in the mailbox at Causeway Street just like my other mail from the first batch (I don't even want to know how many cards I sent there..). Perhaps it just got lost somewhere.
Today I got my card which I sent from Detroit. Postmarked April 30. My friend in Munich/Germany got his on Wednesday so it took just two days there. :D

Sure I've seen big buildings at this side of the pond too (gotta love those buildings in Munich), but in Finland they're almost inexistent. The biggest houses can be found in my city, by the sea and near Helsinki city limit. There are some headquarters of big Finnish companies like Nokia (the low ones at the back), KONE (a Finnish elevator & escalator company - if you see the text KONE on the escalators of the lift you use next time, you're using Finnish technology! ;)) and Fortum, an oil company. http://www.pjoy.fi/galleria/espoo/0506155261_std.jpg

I'll start working at a post office next Monday, I'm really excited. Finally I got a job I wanted :) Actually it's just a learning period first (mon-wed), then I can help them in the offices they need me every now and then.

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

Evert,
Congratulations on your PO job. You will enjoy your hobby of stamp-collecting even more.

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

At least it'll make it easier to get my http://www.postcrossing.com/ cards hand-cancelled ;)

Crossville, TN

How neat!! Jo

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

I surely do know what you mean, friend!
I have not visited Europe, and it's likely I never will.
But I'm OK with that. I like to be home. (Ü)

It's just that you're such a 'seasoned traveler' (LOL!!).....so I'm just hinting that *next time* you visit the US, consider a rural area, (if possible, of course...I realize that wasn't an option this time) ....you won't be disappointed!

Yes, congratulations on the new job!
Wishing you success and happiness.
