Swap forum

Would it be a good idea to put a note at the top of the swap forum that it's for non-plant trades/swaps and include a link to the plant trading forum for people who have plants? I understand that people may want to use the swap forum if they have (or want) something other than plants in exchange, but I noticed a couple recent threads there which seemed to involve only plants and not other stuff, and I figured those probably should have been in the regular plant trading forum instead. Otherwise if it starts to be really plant heavy over there then the non-plant stuff will tend to get lost and you lose the purpose of the forum. All this being said, I haven't actually participated in that forum at all (besides looking at a few threads) so my opinion shouldn't count as much as someone who actually uses that forum reguarly.

Well i think having a forum for non plant items is a good idea....maybe like some household items....or baby and/or kid items...I know I have alot of things i would like to see about trading that some of you all may have...for example i collect Iron Skillets....maybe someone out here has some and would love to trade for some kids toys/clothes...outdoor toys.....

So in my humble opinion i think it is a good idea..... If this is in fact what your are talking bout ecrane3.

You misunderstood what I was saying--I think it's great that there's a separate forum for non-plant items. But when I was looking at that forum this morning, there were several things in there that were plants only, and I feel those belong in the regular trading forums, since the swap forum was intended for people to have a place to put their non-plant stuff. My fear was if people started posting a lot of plant trades in there, then the original intention of the swap forum would be lost (not to mention we'd end up with confusing duplication since there is already another forum for plant trading)

In at least one of the cases, I think it's happening because the swap forum isn't a subscriber only forum, and the plant trading forum is.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. When we created the Swaps forum, it was intended to be for subscribers-only. I've changed it to be for subscribers only (members can see the first post only.)

I've moved the plant trades to their rightful spot, and removed the thread started by a non-subscriber.
