Lilies: Ok , Who has Lilies spring out of the ground -PART 2

Columbia Heights, MN(Zone 4a)

I'm not opposed to seeing other types of bulbs here. I'm just saying that you may get a more informed answer regarding the name of your plant from people who frequent the Bulb Forum.

Ohhh, just look at that sweet little goober face! I want to put that little kitty in my pocket. :)

Patty, you always find the cutest kitty pics!

The kitty is exactly what I need to keep my chipmond pests away from my Lilies. Uncertain, how my bigger dogs will adapt the kitten. I've a big cat one that practically raised my mix-terrier. She would protect the pup when young against other big dogs. Go figure!

I need a stick to beat the rabbits in my yard--no cats running loose here & they run thru the fence before Walker the Wonderdog can get them.

Tazzy, how tall is it? if it's shorter, could it be Orange Pixie? It's a beautiful lily! :)

Fenton, MO(Zone 6b)

I have trumpet over 8 foot tall already.

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

Tinnker it i short but i would say its is dark dark red .

I thought that was "Pixie" as well. :)

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

maybe i have being having trouble with my eyes lastfew months ,
that was its first bloom it was in the low 60°
next bud may be less red

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Well, it could be Red Pixie.... :) or not. :)

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Looks like a Pixie Lily to me too.

Tazzy, is it one of the first to bloom for you? If so I bet it's a Pixie. They come in red, and I have an orange one that is what I would call a cross between red and orange.

Nice to see you back on the forums. I so much appreciated all you did to teach us about iris:)

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

Goodie !!!
I have a red Pixie !

Divernon, IL(Zone 5b)

These are blooming for me and I'd thought my red ones were Pixies when I posted them last year, but someone pointed out these might be too tall to be Pixie, so I know not their designation. Anyway, they look nice.

Here's another blooming one, a vibrant deep orange.

Do the Pixie series have spots/freckles on them?

These yellows are short as well.

Tazzy, The Lily Nooks Library has a Crimson Pixie... Could that be what you have?

bless you that is it . making tag now . LOL

jmorth ~ I don't know if there is any criteria for Pixie lilies other than they're short.

Here is an old thread http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/450024/
and several can be seen here too, at S W gardens. There several pages so scroll through to find all the pixies. http://store.lilies.ca/cgi/lilies/scan/MM=39397967bc5268f0f78b4f21d2cb5504:0:9:10?mv_session_id=NzQJASQG&mv_pc=43&mv_more_ip=1&mv_nextpage=results

Tazzy, you are more than welcome. Now, post one of those nifty cat pictures of yours!

Moby, Thanks for the clarification and link. Now I think I'm back to thinking maybe mine are pixies after all. One reference thereto noted their ability to profusely proliferate and mine have certainly done that. The Lilies in the Valley site listed Pixies from 12 to 36" height. Perhaps mine are of the Crimson Pixie line as their height is listed as 30" (same height as mine).

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

It so nice to see some of you have lilies blooming! I think my first may be next week. Lots of buds.

Looking forward to your anticipated posts.

jmorth,
Your lilies are beautiful! Susan, here further South, I've "Easter Lilies" blooming now. May is definately a good month for Lilies in our warmer region. Still they thrive right onto the first part of hot summer months coming.

How I miss the antics of cats! My ferret would just grab anything she found in the box and hide it . Haven't found the latest hiding place upstairs--must be big since garden gloves & several shoes have gone missing in the past week. Does she HAVE to take just ONE of each pair?

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Yes.

What would be the point (or fun) of taking a set??

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

DD finally learned to close her bedroom door - now DGD has one less 'chore' - no cleaning out ferret treasures under mom's bed! Max's favorite thing is socks and DD finds them tucked in every nook and cranny possible, including her purse and DGD's school bag. Scooter is more into toys. And they play -racing back and forth across the house - with Zac and Princess, the kittens. What a madhouse sometimes! DGD joins in the racing part too!

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Owning a ferret is like dealing with a ketten that never grows up! Everything is a toy, and nothing is too big to steal. Our ferrest have quickly learned to open kitchen cabinets, closet doors and drawyers under the bed--strong little buggers!
