Murmur, I just showed these to Ben(8), & he wants to know how you got the pics of the top of this Eagle... He loves your pictures, he just lit up when he saw them!

Thanks for sharing so many!!

Gosh - thanks for so many kind words!!!

The eagle was "swooping," often sideways to me, so I was able to get those shots standing on the beach looking "up." I admit it was so exciting I was afraid I was shaking too hard to get any photos at all!!

Deb, I wish Ben could share a time like that with me - he would have been beside himself with his interest in birds!

Pelletory... I've searched and I can't find the thread in which you warn of "dangers" of a hummingbird feeder. Can you elaborate? I have about 6 feeders in my yard and they're all different kinds. Wanna make sure I'm bird friendly. I'd appreciate it!

Here it is Judy. Please remember this is the original feeder and they have fixed them since then.

Ah.... I remember now seeing that on Lanny's site. I don't have any of those feeders. However, it's dawned on me that the Hummzinger, which I LOVE, has a similar port. Any problems with it? Why would it be different from the one shown on Lanny's site? I've never had problems with it, but when I was looking at it before h-bird season, having heard of problems with ports, I wondered why it woulnd't have similar issues.

Maybe the perch is closer than the other feeder? I don't know.

You'll have to tell them the hummers are in town now and they'll have to get outa there!

Actually I think thats why he went there because he had just seen the hummer there and wanted to see what was so alluring. Then wouldn't you know it the hummer went to the thistle feeder and tried to eat.

Some pics I got today. The first is a Woodpecker with a beakful of orange.

Great pics GP!!! Love the first one so much. What does the woodpecker have in the last pic?

Melbourne, FL

It's got to be a peanut, just looks darker for some reason. The woodpecker in the first pic got a mouthful and took off...maybe to feed a young one?

Pell, love the imposter picture!!!

And, GP, you've got some outstanding photos there!!! How unusual to see such different birds so close together!

KillerChihuahua, love your name - my daughter has a Killer Papillon - weighs about 4.5 pounds and thinks he's King Kong. Breaks up fights between the cats. Makes us all laugh!

Gras, all the different textures, shapes, elements - with the geese above - is awesome! how far from your home is West Chester Lagoon?

Anchorage, AK(Zone 4a)

Murmur, I live on the south rim of Chester Creek Valley about a mile from salt water. The railroad forms a dam across the creeks tidal mud flats creating the lagoon. Minnesota Drive, 4 lane devided hwy., the major thoroughfare for the west side of down town divides the lagoon into a smaller East Chester Lagoon and the larger West Chester Lagoon.

This is shot of a Bufflehead from today at West Chester Lagoon. This area is used a public ice rink in the winter. The snow piles are the remains from piles formed plowing the ice rink.

Gras, the picture of the geese coming in is beautiful. I can almost hear the squacking. Looks like that one should be a print to sell. Wonderful

I agree!!!

I heartily agree Gras - great shot of a beautiful place!
GP - excellent clarity on those WP & Dove shots, wow.
Pell - no finches have tried my hummer feeders yet, but that's so cute :)
