Dmails being lost

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

I had a few people say they sent me a dmail and it never went through. I also had one I sent that didn't show up as going. Nothing has changed on my computer. Anyone else?

Dmail is working fine for me. Sent and received both yesterday and today.

Al, a couple questions:

1) Do you have folders set up in your dmail area?

2) Did you do a key word search for the missing dmail?

If you have folders set up, and you moved the message "thread" to a folder, that's where you'll find the reply, too. I've found myself scratching my head when I couldn't find a recent message and/or reply in my inbox, until I remembered I had filed the thread, then a reply came in and I responded to it from the link on my member page.

If you can remember any word (preferably something unique) that you or the other person wrote within the message, a search within your dmail area can lead you right to it.

Unless there is a system-wide outage, dmail messages aren't likely to get lost because there's no room for mis-typing or transposing the recipient's email address, as there is in regular email messages. (I gess you could accidentally choose the wrong member name to send it to, but you'd still see it in your dmail box.)

What does sometimes happen is the sender forgets to submit it after they preview the message, and then they go on to do other things, and the message they typed is gone.

I haven't lost any emails that I know of, but late last night I received 2 emails and I was so tired I couldn't respond, so I clicked "mark as unread" so I could remember this morning to respond to them. They didn't come up again on my home page and I tried several times.

Did you do a shift-refresh when you went back to the home page? I just went into my dmail and tried marking something as unread and when I reload the home page it's there just like it's supposed to be.

These were replies to existing dmails. I guess it's possible that both people and myself didn't send them and hit return instead. I just thought I would check. I usually reread a dmail after I send it to make sure it posted.

See why I never file anything? Explains a lot about my desk.

I was wondering why I hadn't heard from you in a while. =)

I wonder if mine are getting thru to you.......

None of yours get through to me - I have you blocked ;)

These weren't whole dmails - just replies in them that didn't post I guess.
