Whitestone, NY(Zone 7a)

I got my package today! SInce most people are posting here instead of the bragging thread, I'll guess I'll just "brag" here :)

I received very healthy cuttings of H. Picta, H. Heushkeliana, H. Obscura (I've been wanting this one for a long time!!), H. Diversifolia, H. Imperialis, and H. Inconspicua. I don't have any of these except for a small cutting of Heuschkeliana (and I'm excited that I can make that plant bigger now! Who knows...maybe one will have pink blooms and one will have yellow!)

Thank you VERY VERY much to my secret hoya pal :))

Gabi

Charlotte, NC

I hope my secret pal isn't ill or on vacation. I sent my package out on the 25th and I've gotten no word yet. I even mentioned here that I'd like her screen-name and I sent a D-mail... no word yet. I hope she got my cuttings and they're not just sitting on a vacant doorstep somewhere. I haven't lost hope yet, but I'd sure like to know that someone received my package.

*EDIT* Turns out my partner was on vacation and she found my plants safe and sound before she left. I was so happy to hear from her because that means not only are my old plants in a new loving home but I stand a chance of getting a surprise in the mail myself :)

Hi all,
I haven't received a package so I hope it was just sent late.

Whitestone, NY(Zone 7a)

Sorry Mulletman and Susan...must be frustrating to wonder if your package arrived safely. Well, Susan, at least you know yours arrived safely :)
Mulletman, have you tried tracking your package to at least see that it has arrived?
Hopefully your secret pals aren't on vacation or something...but I would think they'd let Mark know if that was the case. Anyway, I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation and you'll hear from them soon.
Susan, I looked at your tracking number to see if I could help you out, but I don't see a post from that location either (on this thread). Sorry :(
Hope you both hear from them soon...

in Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

I am still waiting to hear if my Secret Swap friend received their package also.

I believe your swap buddy replied on the bragging page, miss rose. of course, this is simply making the connection that you are in Houston.

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

I received my package today. Very happy here! And I do love the epis! I would like to d-mail my sender but I can't find her in the address exchange. Can you write to me kind hoya buddy?

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

Just curious...did everyone get their packages?

Thanks again for organizing, markroy68!

Livermore, KY(Zone 6a)

Mine went out yesterday, should arrive by Friday.

Fuquay-Varina, NC(Zone 7a)

I've yet to see anyone reply from the state in which I sent a package. I hope they got it and they liked it.

Medford, NJ

I'd really like to get in on this next time, sounds like fun. My collection was started thru the generousity of other hoya lovers, and I will always remember the two occasions when I was sent huge boxes of cuttings to get me started. Such a great feeling! It is fun to buy full size plants but much more rewarding and a lesson in patience to grow from cuttings.

Vista, CA(Zone 10a)

I received my hoyas (and a super neat succulent to boot!) about a week and a half ago, thanks so much secret hoya pal!
So sorry i didn't post their arrival earlier, I was blessed with a broken ankel the very next day and have been staying with my mother;)

I certainly concur with the lesson in patience, Bhavana! I don't usually get the chance to root too many cuttings (because I am a bit over nurturing;) but I have had much better experiences lately and look forward to watching these beauties grow - thanks again Secret Pal!!

ps, can anyone tell me how to get ahold of my secret pals dmail? I am not too familiar with the address exchange, would I find it there? I would love to send a mail just to make sure she knows they are safe;)

Abbie

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

If you know their DG name, just go into your d-mail, click 'compose mail', and it will ask who you want to send it to. Type in any part of their DG name and it will pull up a list. Or you can find a post that they have written, click on their name (in the lefthand column), and click 'send a d-mail'. I hope this helps!

Kim

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

My secret pal put her real name on the package but I don't know her DG name. I looked under all the people in her state for her town, but none were her name.

Not yet, but it hasn't been quite a month yet. How long do the rest of you wait before the worry sets in? Every day I eagerly await the postman's arrival and I'll continue to wait in hopes of some beautiful new hoya cuts. In the meantime, maybe I need to just buy myself some new ones so I can get something in the mail. I love finding packages on the porch :)

I'm so glad to read that others out there have gotten very nice packages with some fabulous plants. Congrats to you all. I'm already looking forward to the next one even though this one isn't finished for me yet :)

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

Sorry to hear you haven't received, yet, MM...hoping all is well with your secret pal?!
Keep us posted......I'd be happy to send you some cuttings if you don't receive anything soon.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

MM - have you contacted Mark?

Charlotte, NC

I'm the new kid on the block here so I really don't want to cause troubles for anyone. I'm not usually much of a complainer and I certainly won't start here. I haven't contacted anyone as I've seen no need. I haven't and won't pester Mark and I haven't pestered my trade partner.

If I receive some cuts in return from this swap I'd be thrilled. If not, it's really not the end of the world, there will always be other trades. I've joined a hoya CoOp here recently and I'm sure I'll find some cuttings through that to help me pass the time until future swaps come along.

On the brighter side: The weather here in NC is warming up nicely and I'm seeing some new growth on several of my hoyas that have been dormant for nearly 6 months. It's so nice to see new green growth on the stems as opposed to the same old brown woody growth from years past. I've also successfully rooted some cuttings I recently purchased of latifolia, mcgillivirayi, australis, and tjadasmalan-something-or-other :) Thank you for the wonderful cuts *you know who you are*.

Take care everyone. Now get back outside and enjoy the weather.

Vista, CA(Zone 10a)

Thanks for the tips on hooking up with my secret pal everyone (&thanks for the dmail mark!!)

MM - I am so with you on the new growth, I can't believe how much some of these babies are taking off!
you have a d-mail;)

my new beauties are looking happy & healthy & I thought this was a great swap, I am so happy I got to be included...

This is a fabulous forum with so many warm people that always encourages my happier (and of course thus better..)side=) Happy Growing to everyone!
