Arisaema season, who has any showing?

Iowa City, IA(Zone 5a)

I've had galeatum two years. The total leaf (three leaflets) is 32 inches across, and the plant is 42 inches tall.

Chesterland, OH(Zone 5b)

That's a nice plant you have! I'm sure it's even more impressive in person.

Hiouchi, CA(Zone 8b)

i have started a request to move the A. triphyllum's out of the A.ringens

Good idea Strever, it certainly should be rectified. If it was a synonym it doesn't state that on the listing in PF. Very nicely put too!

Update on the Arisaemas (I'm busy with bug pics at the moment!), A consanguineum has flowered but isn't as big as last year, maybe needs to be repotted, but it has been a very cool June.

A. ciliatum var. liubaense are coming along nicely, no flowers as yet. The largest of the offsets has a proper leaf this year, it may flower this or next year.

Here's last year's pic. of ciliatum v. l.

Hey Zonedenial, Try Keeping it Green Nursery in Stanwood. I got really amazing stuff there. Arlen Hill is a great guy and he is close to you, I live in Portland and I made the trip. I think we need our own Arisaema forum, so many great jacks out there. Here is a pic of a more rare form of tortuosum that is really dark. We all need to start a good trading network, I have alot of cool stuff you guys would love and I have seven or eight species of Arisaema and plenty of room for more. I have access to second year Sikokianum if anyone wants to trade for any interesting Arisaemas I don't have. I love the nepenthoides, another species for those who like that one should check out heterophyllum and tashiroi. Here is the dark Tortuosum unfurling it's leaves in my hardy orchid bed.

Hey zonedenial; When you hit up the keeping it green place, tell Arlen that Nat sent you. He sold me the plants in this photo, they are Cypripedium hybrids and species. We should trade sometime, I travel through WA., I have tons of family up there. Another great place to check out is Hana Farms, really my favorite place to go when I need something quick. Sean sells lots of hardy orchids, aroids, euchalyptis, ferns and odd balls. Search for him on google Hana Farms.

Hey sorry man (zonedenial), I for some reason thought you were in WA state. Keeping it Green does do mail order. Another good source is Asiatica, I have a large sized Sikokianum arriving from Barry at Asiatica tomorrow. He seemed really nice, responds to e-mail very quickly and has a good selection. Check him out. Has anyone ordered from Chen yi at Kaishen nursery in China. I have heard interesting things, their price list is amazing, tons of plants, I don't think they charge more than $5 for any variety of Arisaema. I really want to place an order, but I haven't heard back from them. I heard they have had problems with the department of something or other. Let me know if anyone has heard of or has ordered from Kaishen nursery in China.

Slipperman... well, I'd like to be in Washington, at least right now. Iowa is under water, with a big dam a mile from us being overflowed right now so that Iowa City is being flooded. A railroad bridge just collapsed and dumped rail cars in another river just north of us, so that Cedar Rapids is being flooded even worse. You had asked about silver-variegated siks, and I have them planted all over the garden now and still have about fifty young plants, both regular and variegated, that are just planted by the driveway in a big bunch. If you lived nearby, you could stop over this fall and dig up a clump; but then you'd have to find an intact bridge to cross to get here... we drove last night up to northern Iowa last to see my sister on her birthday, and had to drive all over heck getting home since they had then closed all the bridges in Cedar Rapids except for one (we wanted to stay out of Cedar Rapids and not contribute to their traffic problems). Is your cyp Michael? I have about a dozen different cyp hybrids, and they are really nice plants. A. speciosum is a little soggy but blooming:

Hey Don;
Sorry to hear about your chaotic surroundings there, I hope you and yours are tucked away on some high ground. My lady's parent live in Wisco and there has been bad flooding there too. I wish I could visit your aroid forest, it sounds awesome. I wish I had A. Sikokianum coming up everywhere I looked. I wouldn't get tired of that as a weed. If you ever dig up dormant corms or have any in your way, at any point in the year, I would be happy to nurse them back to vigor. I could offer some cool stuff if this is ever a possibility, I don't have any of the silver leaf and I want to tinker around with breeding them. Well you take care, may your family and friends find each other happy and healthy once the floods have passed.

Nat the Slipperman
