Iowa is under water, with a big dam a mile from us being overflowed right now so that Iowa City is being flooded. A railroad bridge just collapsed and dumped rail cars in another river just north of us, so that Cedar Rapids is being flooded even worse. You had asked about silver-variegated siks, and I have them planted all over the garden now and still have about fifty young plants, both regular and variegated, that are just planted by the driveway in a big bunch. If you lived nearby, you could stop over this fall and dig up a clump; but then you'd have to find an intact bridge to cross to get here... we drove last night up to northern Iowa last to see my sister on her birthday, and had to drive all over heck getting home since they had then closed all the bridges in Cedar Rapids except for one (we wanted to stay out of Cedar Rapids and not contribute to their traffic problems). Is your cyp Michael? I have about a dozen different cyp hybrids, and they are really nice plants. A. speciosum is a little soggy but blooming: don |
