and my thread tracker has it lost its mind??? i was only watching 4 threads and now it has me watching over 300. i removed all of them but that was weird to come on my home page and it be full of threads i am watching.

I'm wondering if every time you reply to a thread it's now watched? I replied to a couple threads this morning, but can't remember marking them to watch. But now it shows me as watching them.

I'll see if this one automatically gets set to watch after this reply.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Yep, that's it! Reply = automatically watch.

Hmm...not sure whether I like that or not.

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

i tried to remove a few but as soon as you reply they are back agian.

i dont like it either. glad its not just me.

Remove it in the preferences, then.

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

okay did that. just wondering how did it get checked if i didnt check it??

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Okay, you all posted while I was experimenting with something.

To clarify - if we uncheck it, then we will have to manually click on the "watch" link to watch our own threads, is that correct?

I'm struggling on which way to go on this because I really don't want to be set up to "watch" every helpdesk message I reply to, but I don't trust my memory to remember to "watch" my own threads.

How do I do this?

Resin

Click on "My Info", then "Preferences" and you'll see it as "Autowatch".

So if I chek the box to auto watch it will place any thread I respond to on watch and not just the ones I started? Cool! It's easier for me to un watch a thread than to remember to mark it watched.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

I just tested it after I had unchecked the auto watch box. If that box is unchecked, the threads you start are not automatically watched either.

Having problems with the size of the text. Everything in the threads shows the proper sze, but when I type a reply, it so much smaller, and I am having a hard time even reading what I am typing.. I trried changing the print size, but it makes the thread type so much larger, just having problems with the text I type being smaller. Help, remember I am visually challenged.

Ijamsville, MD(Zone 6b)

This is a problem for me as well. Reading text size changed and is okay but typing is toooo tiny!

Defoe I have the same problem as you know but cannot see from one eye already, I don't really care how large it is as lonfg as I can see what I am typing and typing is not my forte

Dave fixed it and made the new way an option under preferences.

To make any text on your computer screen larger hold down the CONTROL key and hit the plus key on your numeric keypad. you can do it more than once until you get a comfortable reading size. To make text smaller hold down the CONTROL key and hit the minus sign on the numeric keypad. By the way this will work not only in Dave's Garden but pretty much anywhere on the Internet,
Jacq.

Thanks Lady from down under, did not know that but then, there is hardly anything I know about computers
