I need your opinion

Glen Burnie, MD(Zone 7a)

My wonderful DG friends:

I have three photos of myself and I am trying to decide which one to use on my author web site. Everything that I have researched about author sites says I should have a photo there. And most famous authors have their photos on their sites. I am hoping that these photos are not too large for DG's site. Please let me know which one you like.

I like #1 best...providing you don't think it makes you look too young.

mid central, FL(Zone 9a)

number one. it looks cool and mysterious.

now i have to ask, what have you written?

Natural Bridge, VA

No. 1 is my favorite. Yes, what is your book?

Glen Burnie, MD(Zone 7a)

I am in the midst of writing a book. I haven't been published yet. But I have written a great deal of poems and essays that I am going to put on the site. I thought this would be a good way to commit to my writing career and not chicken out again.

So everyone say your prayers that I will find a publisher for my book. If I am blessed to one day have a number one best seller, I'll buy a farm and have all my DG friends over for a big ole cookout!!!

I would love to have each book that I write be on the best-seller list. That would be wonderful.

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Oh yes, I like #1 also.

Best of luck with your book, lady!

And when you are a best seller and have that cookout,
I'll be there!

:-)

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

1 looks best.

mid central, FL(Zone 9a)

we can say we knew you "when". best of luck to you.

Noobie~ I agree # 1 is best. Hmm, a farm with DG friends..sounds like a plan..will pray that it becomes so!

Rosemont, ON(Zone 4a)

I'm going to be different and say I prefer #3, because I think a portrait should be more than just a profile, and #3 is the best picture of your lovely, expressive face.

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

I like #2. It has a softness about it.
#3 seems a bit harsh and . like someone else said, a profile does not really show your face.

Glen Burnie, MD(Zone 7a)

Well, I still don't know which one to choose. LOL. Keep the comments coming and I guess I will do a tally and the one with the most votes wins!!!

Thanks for all the compliments. I am very self-conscious about me in pictures....

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Okay, I vote #1 again. Does a second vote count? LOL

:-)

Glen Burnie, MD(Zone 7a)

LOL @ Wuvie. OK so we are leaning sort of towards one right now. Keep the votes coming. I had someone tell me he doesn't even like two at all. I personally thought that was the best of the three. I'm not very photogenic.

The first one is supposed to be introspective. I was looking out of a window when she took that one.

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

# 1 here.
Bernie

Glen Burnie, MD(Zone 7a)

Thanks, Bernie. My mom says #2 looks sad like I lost my best friend. I think I may just do a retake. Everyone seems to like #1, but I'm not sure. Really wish I photographed better than I do.

Victoria Harbour, ON

#3 is my favorite...but any of the 3 would suit your needs...good luck in your venture

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

I, too, like #1,(it shows your beautiful hair!) but I do agree that your 'official author photo' should be more than a profile.

Forgot to add....best of luck to you!

Rutland , MA(Zone 5b)

listen to family. go with nbr 2

bro

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

# 2 has a softness about it that captures me. Your eyes are so deep in that one. Definately a pic that shows the soul.

#3 looks a little too serious. The eyes have almost a challenging? look to them?

Glen Burnie, MD(Zone 7a)

Jen...that's what I thought. I thought there was a gentleness in my face, but some say I just look sad.

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Mona Lisa!! Thats what I'm seeing, a Mona Lisa quality. (which to me indicates an awesome picture).

My mind isn't working right now, but what is it when you look at something and see one thing and then look again you see something else. Is it as simple as an illusion? lmao.

Anyway, #2 has that quality to me.

Glen Burnie, MD(Zone 7a)

LOL@Jen!!!! Thank you so much!!

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

I like #3 because itappears as if you are looking me in the eyes and searching for what is below the surface. It gives me the feeling that in return I can gaze back into the soul of the author.

Glen Burnie, MD(Zone 7a)

Zany...how poetic you are!!!

Missouri City, TX

I like #3 - I can see a sparkle of mischeviousness there.
It would make me want to read some of your work to see if that trait was present.
The fact that is a little darker might also imply that your writing could have deep undercurrents and counterplots. I love a mystery.

Collegeville, PA

#1 has great impact, depth. But #3 shows a lot of personality. Unlike a book jacket, you could change the photos on your web site depending on your mood! How about using both of them?

Kimberly

Glen Burnie, MD(Zone 7a)

Kimberly...that might be a good idea.

Bubba, my writings are going to be mostly inspirational, unless the Lord leads me to do otherwise.

-South Central-, IL(Zone 6a)

I like #2. It is no overbearing, and it evokes thought. #2, please :)

Sioux City, IA(Zone 4b)

I really like #2. I think you look soulful, that's a good look for a writter ain't it? ;)

Mableton, GA(Zone 7b)

Are they gonna be the thumbnail size or the blown up size?

Thumbnail size #1 (or if you don't want a profile .. #3)

Blownup #2

Glen Burnie, MD(Zone 7a)

They aren't going to be the blown up size but not thumbnail either. Probably like a 5x7 or just a little smaller....

-South Central-, IL(Zone 6a)

2 looks 'authorish'
3 looks 'mysterious', and 'sultry'

Edited because I can't count to three.
