Friends Stranded in Rensselaer, IN

Friends (mom and adult daughter) of ours are stranded in Rensselaer, Indiana. The daughter is on her way to work with the Christian Appalachian Project (http://www.chrisapp.org/) in Kentucky. Her car broke down and is not fixable. We are looking for nearby, affordable rental cars.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks, Kathy! I probably should have posted this in the Regional Forum instead of here.

The daughters (who is my daughter's best friend) friend from Madison, Wisconsin, picked them up in Indiana and drove them to Hager Hill, Kentucky.

I wish that I had seen this. My daughter is in W. Lafayette which is just a few miles from Rensselear, and I'm sure that she could have helped out. I'm so glad that everything worked out for them.

Hager Hill, within spitting distance of Paintsville. There's been some flooding up in east KY this month. I hope your friend's daughter is doing OK.

That's an admirable effort, the CAP. I hope she finds reward in the work being done.

Wouldn't it be neat if there was a forum for posting just this sort of thing? Each day you could check and see if anyone was visiting your area ... or if anyone needed info about your area ... or if a situation like this had occurred. It could be posted but everything handled through private Dmail. Maybe work like plant trade where you can close the thread when it's finished? Only those people who wanted to participate do as you'd add it to your "watch" forums.
