Anybody else tried the Hakia beta search engine?

They seem to really like DG - searches for plants and gardening stuff tend to bring up lots of results from here ;o)

Thanks for pointing this out, Terry...looks promising.

Interesting. I like the clean look of it.

What I particularly found interesting was how it determined what to show me for search results. I did a search for a particular iris cultivar and it brought up a DG listing of the entire Iridaceae family http://davesgarden.com/pf/b/Iridaceae/none/none/cultivar/0/ and another listing of the entire Iris genus http://davesgarden.com/pf/b/none/Iris/none/cultivar/0/ .

It did not give me a hit directly to the particular cultivar I was looking for.

If you look at one of the links above, and then look at the plants, there's a rating column with a number and then sometimes a pair of eyes. What's does that mean? Is it a DG thing or a search engine thing?

lol...they are the cutest little eyes...I've never noticed them here on DG....I hope they are DG's...

I've seen those eyes somewhere on DG before, but not used in this way. I can't remember where I've seen them either.

The eyes are used to indicate the plant is available from a PlantScout vendor ;o)

Aha! That's it! I knew I'd seen those eyes before. :)
