Ok, this is ridiculous! I'm putting my foot down!! Where are the 60 and 70 degree temps!!!! I'd even settle for high 50's with no wind. Anyway, I went out to check on my wintersown sprouts and took a photo or two. I thought I'd share.
February's Coffee in April!!!!
Nice Aniter - our spring bulbs are playing dead to avoid further humiliation.
Mine are too! They are buried at the momnet.
Nice pics Anita...im jealous!
Thanks - they bring a smile. Well, I'm all set for company - all I need now is for them to arrive. We are having grilled Lamb chops and veggies. What is everyone else doing? Have a Happy Easter!
We had Easter at my parents yesterday. I think we are doing a family activity looking at lions - I'll get a pic for you.
oh...and ham
We're having turkey (because it was taking up too much room in the freezer - normally we would have ham).
And German Apple Cake - flavoured with rum!
Oh, yeah - some veggies too.
I just love these special times of family gatherings! I love getting reconnected with family I may have not seen in a while - I find it heart warming. We had 2 lovely family dinners this year. Our family was very spoiled.
Hope you all are having great Easter dinners!
Gram, I love your win-win plan. How'd it go over, anyway? It looks delicious!
I'm a bad christian and a worse cook. We had Burger King for lunch driving home from my in-laws this afternoon. I don't know yet what we'll have for dinner. Hopefully my DH will be inspired to cook steak tonight.
Yes! He just said he will.
Happy Easter everyone. God's love be with everyone this holiday.

Those are terrific! I didn't know what you meant at first when you said you'd be looking at lions today. I like these lions! Are they going to be exploring the US like the cows did 10 years ago?
Al, your daughter is a real beauty. Keep a close eye on her.
They are part of a local promotion for the Lion King coming to the performing arts center.
The rest of the family I think is seeing the rest of them tomorrow while I slave away in the grass mines.
My daughter has decent values so far - so I'm not worried yet.
LOL! I wasn't warning you about her behavior - it's others out there ya gotta worry about.
I like those lions. Do different artists decorate them?
You're going to slave away in the grass mines? What kind of grass grows in a mine? LOL!
I think sofonisba means that you need to buy a baseball bat and acquire an evil eye for the boys! LOL
Great Lions - who made them?
Harper - it's a greenish type of grass. I'm great at intimidating kids 30 years younger than me.
They all have different designers, some were students.
Pretty daughter Al!
We had whales out here a year or two ago. Appropriately, around New London,CT.
The Lion King is a pretty awesome stage production by the way.
We had:
Antepasta, stuffed shells, lasagna, braggioli & sausage, ham, turkey, mashed potatos, sweet potatos, creamed spinach, ceasar salad, artichokes, apizza gain, apizza grain, ricotta pie and about 6 other desserts.
This should be criminal but it isn't too different than any other Italian-American holiday meal.
Anyone have a stomach pump?
Feel free to stop by for leftovers.
Hi Dave!...braggioli is new to me. Is that the Maltese dish I see a few references to on google? Or another regional spelling of braciole? (which is my all time favorite and not easy to come by. )
We had ham, salad, carrotts, pea's, pinapple, mashed redskin potatoes w/garlic & herbs, buttermilk bisquits, and a egg shaped cake for the GD's. With Ice cream of course!! A very simple meal as I was kind of busy and youngest DG is picky.
Al, those lions are fantastic! Looks like everyone had a good time.
bigcityal - awesome lions. Saratoga did that a few years ago with horses for the race track there. And you have a very beautiful daughter.
This is kinda amazing........In Maine we had a green Christmas and a white Easter. It was 8 degree's colder on Easter than it was on Christmas. We had a snowstorm last week in April that was equal to what we normally get in Feb. and we are due for another one this week!!! Looks like my veggie garden is a loooooong way off!!
This whole weekend was messed up weather wise. My mother said they had a killing frost in North Carolina. The weather guy promises 50's by tomorrow. I have this sinking feeling that we are going to jump from this cool weather to 90's with not much of 60's and 70's
A green Christmas and a white Easter? Has it occurred to anyone that we are in some wierd time-space warp continium? Maybe the government is telling us everything! LOL
Cute daughter, Al. Must have Mrs. Al's genes! Dave, MARRON!! I just put on a couple of pounds reading that.
Dave, I can't even think of letting DH hear what you had. we did have an antipasto. but years ago I put the brakes on having pasta AND a whole holiday dinner. nobody can eat it all (but they try anyway LOL). repeat after me...lasagna is not an appetizer. and I haven't made braciole in forever.
anybody ever dye their peeled eggs (hard-boiled, of course)? it's a fun thing to do. I dye the ones I put in the antipasto.
Al, thanks for the pics of the lions (and the pretty-as-a-model daughter). we had buffalo a few years back. some of them were extremely creative.
Pretty daughter Al - OMG I want her rosy cheeks!!! Hehehe.
Those lions are pretty neat. I love the look of them!
I guess I meant braciole. Haven't had to spell it much. Gram that idea of getting rid of stuffed shells or lasagna at Holiday meals comes up every year. Bottom line is that everyone would rather skip the turkey/ham. It goes: antipasto, pasta, entree. It ain't antipasto if it ain't before the pasta.Otherwise you got your antihamo!
Yum!!! You guys are killing me here. We had a nice dinner at the in-laws in LI (all you in LI, I was thinking of you as I drove out on 495.) MIL didn't do the traditional ham this year, I don't know why. We had sushi and bread and cheese as our appetizers. Then, steak, scalloped potatoes, broccoli with lemon butter sauce and a salad. Ice cream for dessert, of course. Oh, and lots of vodka tonics. DS had apple juice.
Food was nice, but it was too cold! Brrr! MIL put out birdseed in all her deck pots and we watched the birds feast from the cozy indoors.

That sound delicous!
It was!
Harper, that sounds really good to me, too.
Dave, are you an antihamite? at Christmas I've gotten around it by making lasagna for New Year's, or during the week if we have company. If everybody voted for the pasta, I would skip the meat. Not that there isn't meat in the sauce. There's always meatballs, and pork and usually sausage, too.
I'm making Lasagna tomorrow......been having a craving for it and since the storm is on it's way I figured I'd make up a pan. DH will eat it hot or cold!!
I like the ham, meatballs, pork, sausage and hot lasagna and whatever else you have.
I get to work out in the garden today - who hoo!
I needed some good lasagna last night after the planting day I had - 30 clematis and about 10 shrubs. All in raw, windy 45 degree conditions! I was DEAD.
