I looked for some in neutral gray but they only had bright colors for kids. Maybe you will have better luck finding it.

This one is I. muelleri and I guess the seed is either really dirty or it had hairs.

Those are fabulous, Beth! A new standard has certainly been set! I've got the foam at home also...but I can't recall if I have a neutral gray...

I'm wondering if there are viewing angles that are critical for identification purposes that may be difficult to achieve with the scanner? I'm sure it is dependent upon seed shape and which features are critical. I'm sure Ron can let us know which features are critical for each seed type. With the resourcefulness demonstrated here, I'm sure these minor obstacles, if they exist, will be overcome!

Now I'm excited to return home and start documenting my species seed!
