Trees and Shrubs Forum loading very slow

This problem began yesterday for me. I check t&s forum often since it's my fave. The other parts of this site are loading fine but getting the main page of t&s to load takes forever. Once I click on a thread it's fine but then when I try to go back to the main page it hangs up again.

That's odd - there's no reason why one forum should load slower than any others. Would you try again and report back, please?

Terry, I just tried logging off and back on and now it loads fine but it took quite a while just bring up a fresh connection to DG's main page. I'm wondering if my problems are related to using Internet Explorer. If it continues I'll try going back to Netscape.

I had a lag when I first logged on this morning, but once I got my system fully awakened (not sure I was!), it loaded fine, and has been pretty speedy since. But please do let us know if you encounter any timeouts or really long delays in page-loading.

chamthy, if you have downloaded the new IE, you may need a computer tech to do a lot to your computer to make things right. Most people are still saying that the new IE has bugs in it...my tech has spent hours making my computer as fast as it originally was...plus, if you have downloaded the new IE, make sure that each time an announcement appears to repair the IE, do it!! good luck

I was having a similar problem last night, except it was Propagation and Plant ID (I wasn't trying to get into T&S at the time so don't know if it was slow or not). It was very weird, any of the other forums that I clicked on it would go right in, but those two didn't want to load. The problem didn't last very long though, I'd say after about 10 min or so I was able to get back into them fine.

This problem is worse than ever. I'd just forget about it if weren't for the fact that I've paid for a subscription to this site. T&S is the only forum I check regularly here. Noone else has this problem?

Here is a big clue: I noticed the same thing...it took 43 seconds to load even after I had been to the forum and returned. Everything should have been cached, right? But when I went to my preferences and deselected "show forum sponsors" it loaded immediately. It may be that sponsor info is coming from a different place and taking a long time to load.

I'm not having problems with T&S or any other forums. You should try what passiflora's suggesting and turn off the forum sponsors, on another thread I saw that people did that and things loaded faster for them. It's in your preferences in the same place that you turn off viewing ads.
