Yes, Lin please pass them around. Actually I wasn't originally going to send the B&B's. I had a stack of old Horticultural Magazine in that chest. I thought you would enjoy but they weren't there when I went to get them. I remembered later that my Aunt had borrowed them last year for some kind of House and Garden Tour one of the homes had been featured in one of the old magazine I still had in my chest. So I gave her a stack and said don't worry about bringing them back. We usually send our magazine to the VA Hospital when Ric has to go for some reason. But the gardening ones I never seem to part with. They get stacked up in the corners of the bedrooms.

Red Oak, NC(Zone 7b)

Nancy, you are right they did change the name of the forum. I was panicking when I couldn't find it! I received my whimsy too. Thanks!

Everyone, look what Nancy sent me!

Holly: I do know what you mean about magazines getting stacked in corners! I hate to depart with any of the B&B, Country or my Gardening Magazines. But, I finally relented with the B&B and Country when I saw how much enjoyment they brought to some of the elderly folks! They are wonderful Magazines! I sat up reading a few of the ones you sent me last night and will finish the remainder this weekend! One or two I will maybe keep awhile as I saw articles I want to read again! LOL.

Thank you again for thinking of me and sending these!

Lin

I didn't read the whole thread....big time basketball getting started, but the Willow tree has a natural rooting hormone in it...one is lucky is they have a willow tree. I have to go to a friend who has a nursery and grows a big willow just for that purpose...she does a lot of rooting...

Well, list has ended. can't wait until next time this is done. What fun for all. I loved opening the packages that have arrived.

Susan1 sent a cute hard plastic/ceramic hollow whiskey barrels with frogs crawling around on it. Can't wait to decide which garden to put it in. I do know that where ever its home happens to be that when I walk by it, I will smile.

Dispatcher1 also sent a great package of whimsey. I received a rock with "live well, laugh often and love more" written on it. It hasn't made it to the garden because I am using it as a paperweight on my desk. Also in the package what a silver colored charm bracelet with garden themed charms. I have been wearing it every day.

Thank you cedarnest for starting this exchange. It was a lot of fun.

I too have had so much fun with this exchange. It was just what I needed lately.

Everything I have recieved so far is darling and so pretty. As well as all the pictures of other's whimsys.

While people were out shopping did you run across anything so tacky or funny or silly it made you laugh. I thought about it as a gag,, but was afraid someone would really think it as a sweet pretty little whimsy.

Might be funny to search for the most rediculous, silly garden thingy we could find. :)

thanks again! Mary.

(Zone 1)

Oh Mary ... That's a great idea for an exchange ... could call it:

"The Wackiest, Silliest, Tackiest, Ugliest (or, so ugly it's cute), Funniest, Ridiculous Garden Whimsy Exchange"!

:)

Lin

edited to say: I've seen some really cute/funny/kinda tacky garden stuff lately! Oh, I forgot to include tacky - just added it to the description!

blue_eyes, i thought you would be an A&M fan...aren't you in school there? I can't say I was pulling for Ohio State...I graduated from UT Austin......lots of rivalry there with Ohio State.....

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

I am from Ohio, just moved down here for school. I did my undergrad at OSU and am a buckeye at heart. I was rooting for A&M too until they lost.

Go to Lowes or HD to get your knee pads. My son gave me an old pair of his, he does construction work. They are great I can actually kneel on my bad knee. Instead of just a foam pad to kneel on ( that's what I used until this year) get the kind that strap to your knees then you can crawl around in the dirt. And you should have seen me on Sat in the garden. I had wanted these really nice gloves I saw in Garden Gate, with thorn protection and gauntlets made for women. But they were sold out buy the time I tried to order them. So I got a pair of old leather gloves from one of the boys and put them over my gloves, with my knee pads and a baseball type cap with my hair hanging out the hole in the back to keep it out of my eyes. I was thinking how funny I looked. You know there are ladies who garden in long sleeve flowing shirts, long skirts, with dainty women's gloves, beautiful straw hats standing in a rose garden with a willow gathering basket on their arms. And then there is me. LOL
