The screen is too wide

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

Was here earlier in the day, and the screen was okay. Came back tonight and it is too wide for my monitor. I hate using the horizontal bar. What's up?

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

Unless other people chime in saying they're having the same problem, try reading through this thread and see if any of the suggestions help you...

Yup, the screen is lots wider tonight than it was earlier today. I really dislike it alot!!

I agree with the too wide screen! I like to have my Favorites list open on the left, but have to close it in order to see all the entire post now. I do not like it.

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

It's too wide here also and has been since yesterday afternoon.

ecrane, is your screen not too wide?

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Mine, too.

Is this over the whole site, or just inside threads?

dave

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

Happens for me in threads, plantfiles, garden watchdog, dmail ans tradelists must be all over for me.

I don't like it either. I have been trying to type making shorter lines so no one has to move the screen. especially me to check myself.

North Augusta, ON

no problems here....

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Things are normal now Dave. Nice fix!

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Wow! Now my screen size in most threads is about half the window size.

Ijamsville, MD(Zone 6b)

Yes, now it is smaller. It was fine earlier this am but not now.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

I'm seeing the banner going all the way across the screen like normal, however the threads are only using half of the screen. It's all squished to the left.

Burlingame, CA(Zone 9a)

Now it's too narrow :-(

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

Dave, mine is still too large. I can't decrease the size of the text, as I am visially impaired. So please please fix it.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Mine is now okay even with enlarged text. I'm using the latest Firefox.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

Mine's still too large

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

Dave, it seems to be in all my watched threads. I checked the text size, and went from a large to medium text, and sorry I can't read that easily, so changed it back to large text.

The reply box is normal size, but it is in opening a thread to read, I have to scroll horizontally.

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

Me too. Gettin' dizzy here.

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Same here, I'm back to being too wide!

Looks like a problem either way, I feel for you Dave! http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/706568/#new

Fort Pierce, FL(Zone 10a)

Mine is too wide too. Seems to be increasing in size in relation to my hips!!!!
Pati

All the posts on all fourms are extra wide,on mine.

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

Same problem here:(

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

For those of you whose screens are too wide (or too narrow), what resolution is your computer set at?

South/Central, FL(Zone 9a)

Everything was fine here, till I opened a thread in Florida Gardening titled 'Would like to know please?' and it is way small.

My resolution is set at 1024 by 768.

Mine has been wide, too, in all forums that I read.

Stupid question, how do you change text and where do you read what the resolution is and if those are both problems, why did it just start yesterday? Might have been the day before, I don't remember.

Thank you for working on this. I'm using IE but can switch to Firefox if that is what I need to do.

South/Central, FL(Zone 9a)

vic...go to your start menu, then click on the control panel, then on display. It should tell you the resolution you are using.

Thank you BlueGlancer. I did go to Control Panel but didn't see anything in reference to display. Sorry to be so technologically stupid.

I did switch to Firefox but everything is still wide.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

vic, you *should* have an icon called "display" in your control panel.

When you find it (I'm confident you will ;o), the two tabs that are of importance are the Appearance and Settings.

Start with Settings. In most systems, trying a different resolution will let you test it (it'll probably even switch back to your initial setting after a few seconds unless you tell it you like it.)

Appearances lets you change your font size, smaller or larger.

Playing with the resolution and the font size will let you find the right mix for your monitor and your personal preferences with your eyesight. (If we didn't spend so much time staring at DG on computer screens, we'd probably have better eyesight, right???)

I made yet another change today. How is it now?

I have my resolution at 1024 X 768 and my font size set to "larger" and everything looks perfect here.

You can also check your resolution by right clicking on your desktop, choosing properties and then the settings tab.

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

My resolution is 800 x 600. Right now the screen width and font size are perfect.

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

Mine's 800x600 too, and right now the screen width is perfect for me, as well.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Yay, Dave!!!

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

mine is just fine

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Dave, lookin' good from here!

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

Mine has magically repaired itself without any intervention on my part.
