Do you not cover your seeds? I always cover mine until they start to germinate.

i did cover them and they are in a green house thing made by park seed company.

they were in like spongy stuff. its called a bio dome.

and some seed i was starting wont germinate without sunlight.

hi, i am germinating several seeds now. i found a plastic 4 shelf display rack that they were getting rid of at my local grocer. i wired 3 grow lights,( 24"- got them with a coupon at menards) to the top of each rack. i then placed heating pads on each shelfunder each tray.i put the rack in the basement of my small house, and check them daily. i usually have germination in 5-7 days this way. i am guessing that maybe your seed starting mix, seeds, or your trays were contaminated. i save the plastic trays and domes each year and usually buy new peat pots each year. i purchase a sterilized, soiless growing medium and wet it before planting my seeds.it usually contains a mixture of vermiculite and peat. i also soak my sweet peas overnight before starting. if i re- use any pots or trays i sterilize them in bleach & water before each use. i usually buy burpee seeds. i put my seedlings in the greenhouse as soon as weather permits.my sweet peas are the only thing that havent greminated yet... i hope this is not a nationwide problem.i live in illinois near the wisconsin border, you probably have a whole set of different bugs out there. i too would have thrown them out. it can be frustrating to start seeds sometimes.. its cheaper but a whole lot of work. hope this helps some kathy
