HELP! DG pages are wayyyy too wide for my screen!

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

What can I do? I have to scroll at least 3" over to see all the text. This is been going on on all the forums as well as right now--here. My right hand margin has disappearwd and I cannot even see the first few letters on the left hand side when I start a new sentence.

I went to my desktop and clicked on properties and adjusted the numbers and even restarted my computer, but it made no difference. Where can I go to make the text fit my screen????

Thanks, Gita

Strange! Now that I clicked "send" and it is an actual post, it fits just fine.
But, all day long I have been scrolling left and right to read everything.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Are you still having the problem when you view other threads or is it totally fixed now? Other people had been complaining about this last night and Dave fixed something this morning so I'm surprised you were having the problem at all this afternoon, but if it's still happening to you on other threads besides this one then maybe there's something that's still not fixed.

The Forum/post area seems OK this morning. I randomly checked several posts yesterday, and all but one of them was OK. It is in the reply window that there is this problem. It still has no left margin in sight and to see the end of the right margin, I have to scroll to the right. After the "frame" of the communication window, there is this WIDE space of nothingness--at least 3" wide. Is something supposed to go in there? Like the "Ads"?
Below, where you would pose an image, on the word "Image" the "I" in not visible. It is beneath the frame of my monitor.

I was in my D-mail screen just now, and it is the same there.

Mind you, the text in the area where all the Posts are is OK, it is just where I am writing now--before I hit "send".

I hope this described it OK. I will go, right now, and look at some other posts and see how things are.

I just went to the "Garden Talk" tab and where all the Garden topics are listed, the third column is 2/3 off the screen. Like on THIS Forum (Daves Garden) only the word "Daves" is visible. For the rest you have to scroll to the right. Seems the screen is too wide, no matter what.

If it is a problem on my computer, please help me fix it.

Thanks, Gita

Have you gone to the top of your screen and checked the text size (under view)? Sometimes, if you change it to smaller or smallest, it fixes the problem.

I don't know if it's your computer or not. Everything looks fine on my computer, but the other night when other people were having problems everything looked fine on my computer then too. My thought is that Dave did fix the screen width problem at least in some places, but it's possible it didn't get fixed everywhere. He's not always around a lot on weekends but if that's what is going on hopefully he'll figure it out next week. Although it wouldn't hurt to check your text size settings like KayJones suggested since I haven't seen anyone else jump in saying they have the same problem that makes me think it might be your computer and not DG.

I just had the same problem after an XP update. I noticed in the bottom right corner of IE the magnify was at 125% so I dropped it to 100%. Hope this helps.

Growin,

I am still having this problem, but only in all the reply windows I write in--like right now. Same on my D-mail response window. Once the response is posted, everything is OK. on that screen. I imagine it must be a setting of some kind on my Computer, but I am not brave enough to go messing around with things.
WHY would one window be OK and the other one wayyy too wide? They are both on the screen at the same time??? The $64,000 question.
I have gone to "Settings" and all is OK there.

Where is this magnify thing you are talking about? I got rid of my IE and now use Firefox. I keep thinking that there must be a "line" somewhere that I can grab with my cursor and just pull the whole thing in--but there is not.

Ecrane--I did go to the text size and made it a bit smaller, but it did nothing to the screen area.

I'll keep an eye here for more help.

Thanks, Gita

It was happening to me a month ago and I wrote Terry about it (I meant to use "contact us") but now it is fixed on it's own.

I use 600x800 pixel size as it is such a nice easy viewing size for me. On DG home page a little bit is missing on the home page on the right margin. However, forums are ok and nearly all other viewing on other web sights is located fine.

Indy,

Weird!!!!! There was somethingI that was sent to me and i wanted to look at it, and this little window came up and said that this is best viewed in a 600x800 pixel size, so I clicked OK and changed it.

I guess that did it, as most of my screens are now OK. I don't remember changing it to anything else, but it must have happened somehow....I am just glad that it is back to normal......Hope it lasts.
