I am working on my PhD in vet physiology, with an emphasis on animal reproduction and genetics. Many people wonder why I chose animal science instead of plants....but I see plants as a hobby, not a profession. I grew up on a farm and have always loved working with animals.

Lol you guys!!! I can't find a guy locally to save my life....apparently I need to broaden my search! Actually I haven't done much looking, something my mom keeps nagging me about (nicely). I think they're worried I'll never marry. I was engaged once, and it ended badly, been sort of dating-shy ever since. But 3 years single has gotten me thinking about the dating scene once again. Ok.....enough of my sad love life woes....

Kim, tell mom to relax.....my youngest daughter didn't marry until she was 29 and most of her friends are still getting married for the first time at age 36. I have a son in Austin who will be 35 in April and isn't even thinking about marriage....young people marry much later today.
edited to say that she was in medical school and residency....quite similar to your situtation....

Oh the Whimsys are rolling in.LOL I received mine today from Pepper23/Amanda A gorgeous stained glass butterfly windchime(its wings actually flap when the wind blows it..too cool) It looks wonderful hanging outside my door Amanda.Thank You : ) From Nan I received the cutest snail pot hanger (love the smile on his little guys face lol ) and a watermelon hanging planter/birdfeeder(never seen anything like this before..I love it! ) .Really neat Nan.Thank You : )& From pepsidrinker/Connie I received a sassy new pair of gardening gloves(I can never have enough of these) and a beautiful kitchen towel with birdhouses and watering cans.Looks great in my birdhouse kitchen Connie..Thank You : ) I will try and snap a picture of my loot later to post.I just wanted to make sure I got on here to let you know they arrived safely and again..Thanks So Very Much To Each Of You! : )) This exchange has been so much fun!

I received my Wonderful Whimseys today. How very cute, and how appropriate these gifts were for me.

Makshi sent me a Garden Journal, some Miracle Grow spikes and some beautiful scented soap. I have been clipping little notes and papers and stuffing them into an envelope waiting until I could find a Journal to jot everything down in. My plants thank you for the feed sticks, I am terrible about fertilizing, these are great when I see my plants thriving I will think of you, and the little soaps smell wonderful in their cute little bag. I think they may end up in a dresser drawer as a sachet. Thank you so very much.

BettyGail, This little bird is so adorable, you know I have 5 bird feeders, a bird bath and I don't even know how many birdhouses. It is just perfect. Thank you so very much.

Ok here is the pic I took of the whimsys I received today That I was raving about in my post above.LOL for some reason it pictured the windchime twice but thats ok... I just adore them all : ))

I received my Very First Whimsy today from Pepper23/Amanda, and just have to share a photo! I feel a bit guilty about giving hints that I collect Birdhouses. :) Amanda ... I just Love this one you sent! It isn't like any of the others I have and really unique! It will share an honored position with the others in my collection! Thank you so very much! I can't wait to get my deck all cleaned and the furniture and plants back in place! I've been cleaning out there the past two days ... moved all the furniture and plants off the wood deck, scrubbed the deck and now I'm waiting for it to dry so I can coat it with water sealer and move everything back! I will post another photo of my new birdhouse with some others, as soon as I get it all back together! Oooh ... I'm like a little kid when I can add to my Birdhouse or Plant Collection! Thanks Again Amanda ... it is perfect!

Nan, I received the little frog pot pal and the apple core with the bird sitting on it. I love them both.
You and Cedar sent me frogs for my collection and I am just thrilled.

Nan there was a little piece of green plant in there was that supposed to be in the box or did it jump in for the ride?

Glad you guys like your gifts!! I thought I had struck gold when I saw that birdhouse. Even my dad was impressed and it takes alot to impress him sometimes! LOL . And the windchimes I have a feeling I will get me one too just as soon as the wind and rain is done around here. lol

Hi everyone! I am finally able to share the two wonderful whimsy's I received so far. The first one was a really sweet and whimsical birdhouse hand painted. I asked dispatcher 1 if she handpainted it and sold these,, shucks, no response,, it really is so sweet.. my dd and hubby keep discussing the best place to hang it. I think it is going to be in sight of my dd's swingset fort. :) Thank you again Lou!!

I got lucky again with another birdhouse from cedarcrest Nancy! Too sweet and a wonderful butterfly magnet that keeps flying around my house to different places. Today I found her on my bathroom medicine cabinet. And sometimes it goes back home to the bird house. You will see her in the picture.

This has been really fun for me.... I promise my recipients that yours will go out in priority mail, I have the boxes and just need to pack and get it to the post office. My dh will probably have to carry them as it is just so hard to hold onto big packages and a tiny 2 y.o squirming little boy's hand at the same time!!

Just wanted to let all of you know that I finished my daughter's bassinet skirt yesterday. Just in time she went into labor last night and I now have a beautiful new Granddaughter. Mom and baby are doing just fine. Holly

They named her Lily Ann, Both Grandmothers have Ann as a middle name. I must find just the right Lily to plant in her honor.
Congratulations Susan, This is our second, the first is a Grandson he's 3 now. My youngest son has him and now my daughter has a daughter. I don't think my oldest 37 will have children, she is a wonderful Aunt and loves to do things with her friend's children, but likes the part where she can give them back after the fun is over. My other son is 31 (twin to the daughter that just delivered). He's not ready to settle down yet, but is great with his nephew and so excited about his new niece.

Got a pkg yesterday from Gale, it's a Garden Design on DVD, thanks :o)

Congratulations Holly on the new granddaughter! Lovely name too. Hang on everybody, I will get the boxes out, I have been very ill and may end up in the hospital today. Speaking of grandchildren (ohmygosh, I still can't believe that I'm saything that word in reference to me!) my DD is due April 15th, and believe it or not, HollyAnn, the girl name she has chosen is Lillian....we're having her shower this weekend.

We have a cat that was born on April 15 ... Her name is "Cookie" but I always said I should have named her IRIS ( for the IRS)! Hee Hee.

Buttoneer, Judy....you outdid yourself with the garden whimsy exchange!!! If you only knew how much I love gladiolus corms.....in the garden they go this weekend!! I,too, have fallen in love with these spikes for fertilizing......all of the gifts are so lovely and generous of you...must post a pic for everyone to see how lucky I am!!!
