A plug for Daves in new Armitage book.

Ida, MI

I just got a copy of Allan Armitage's new book, "Armitage's Native Plants For North American Gardens" a good book I might add. At the back of the book he has lists of nurseries, books internet sites etc. Daves garden is listed in the internet sites with the following description. "One of the better 'private' sites I have visited-extensive and devoted to gardeners." As far as I can see it is the only general garden forum type site listed though I have yet to visit them all. Quite a feather in your cap I would think Dave, I hope you are able to keep the site as it is for a long time to come. Congrats, I think you just got a very big compliment.!

Wow, that is a really nice compliment! Is this the book? http://davesgarden.com/gbw/c/1973/

Thanks for pointing out the reference to DG! I haven't snagged this book yet...and by the looks of things, I probably should think twice....I have a new bookcase I set up in my newly renovated office last week, and immediately stuffed it full with gardening books and catalogs. Guess I could always take the shelf of catalogs and put them elsewhere to have more room for more books, right????

Yep, thats the book. I have two large bookshelfs myself and need another. If you run out of room just get another bookshelf, you can never have too many books, get rid of the TV to make space for a nother bookshelf. LOL I think it quite a compliment for Daves to be mentioned positively by Armitage. And another thing, I wonder if he is out there, what his user name is LOL Where are you Mr. Armitage?LOL

hehehe - yeah, I could get rid of the TV - as long as I wait until the men's college basketball season and pro hockey are done. It might not be missed until football cranks up again in the fall!

That is a great compliment indeed!! Thank you for letting us know about this!

I was doing some plant shopping in Houston today and I asked the workers if they'd heard of Dave's Garden and they said, "Of course! We use it all the time to verify our plant information!" They were then quite surprised to learn that I was the Dave of Dave's Garden. :) It's rewarding to see the word get out about DG.

I've discussed Daves Garden on the local radio Sat. morning garden show.. talked about how much I had learned and that I'd heard this from Daves.... And I've also talked to Alan Armitage on the radio, so who knows if he heard how devoted I am??

I think it's great Dave & Terry. Keep up the good work.
