Here's my list. I'll add to it if I think of anything else.

Haves:
Blackberry lilies
creeping jenny
Vinca major

I don't know about wants. I guess I'll feel my way. I'm still a novice gardener here.

I just updated my "haves" and my gargantuan "wants" list; see above.

Shenandoah Valley, VA

Happy, the golden moneywort and creeping jenny are the same thing unless bseward's is green instead of gold. LOL You're welcome to have as much as you want. I have oodles. You wanted some pussytoes too, didn't you?

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Anyone with Fragrant Daylilies - please keep me in mind...heck anything with fragrance...LOL
A few of you had rooted lilacs...only need one - the more fragrant the better. :)
Someone had Hens and Chicks with red winter color - would you save some for me please?
Hart - pussytoes?

Thanks for clarifying, Hart. I have an expanse of some plant that might be golden moneywort/creeping jenny. I don't know what it is. If that is what it turns out to be, then I don't need any at all!

I hope everyone will look at my list and find some things they want. Wish I had extra daylilies, but I don't. My yard is a little shady, so while they do well here, they don't multiple the way they would in a sunny yard.

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

No, I looked at the photos, and that's not what I have. I'll bring some - maybe one of you can identify it. I'm sure it is very common.

Shenandoah Valley, VA

Same here with the daylilies except it's the dry soil and all the spares are going to be moved to the slope along the driveway. If I ever manage to get that slope done I should have lots of extras, though.

Happy, I'd love some of that spirea. It sure is pretty and it's apparently drought tolerant too.

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

The spiraea roots really easily, is tough as nails, and it pretty to boot. We have a lot because it did too well in a perennial bed, and overshadowed the perennials so I had to take it out. We now have smaller plants all over the yard, and several to give away.

Sequim, WA(Zone 8a)

I am not sure yet what I have - I need to get out there and dig up some stuff - IF I don't do that I will stop and get some annuals for "swapping purposes" - I have no specific wants, my garden has no rhyme or reason to it - I just want them all! :)

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

Please please don't buy plants, at least certainly not for me. I have plenty to give away. I am not looking for anything in return, except a fun afternoon. I suspect that is true of all of us.

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

OK! I guess it is time I posted my "Haves". Been making a list as I walk around and take stock.

I have: (and as everyone else--will edit this as needed)...

5" pots rooted "Zygo" Cactus (pink/red mixed)-7. Trimmed the big ones and rooted the cuttings.
Rooted, variagated Spider plants----3 or 4
Beefsteak Begonias----- 3 or 4
Satin Pelionia-----1
Yellow, mini Pear Tomatoes (I grew from seed)----8 or 10
Pregnant Onion, potted and growing and "birthing".-----4
Rudbeckia "Goldstrum"---dug up and growing----five MP's
Shasta daisies (tall, 3' or so)------5 pots of 4+ plants each
Lillie's of the Valley--dug up and growing-----6 pots (+or-)
4" pots Double, yellow Datura (grown from seed--doing awesome!)-----Lots. Got seeds from a DG'er last year. They all came up!

Am rooting tip-cuttings from "Chrisanthemum Pacificum".
Hope to have them ready. I am sure i will, in cell-packs of 6 plants--about 10.
If you never heard of this plant, it is mostly grown for it's foliage. It is green above and silver below. Comes back every year. The "blooms" are tansy-like and golden in color. Origin of this plant is in China. Here's a PF link.
http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/992/.

Have dug up, rooted and potted starts (good sized) of "Nandina" (Heavenly Bamboo).--6 one gallon pots.

Aloe Vera starts. Am dividing a big clump. Some will have no roots (but will root) and some will have roots. I will mark the differences. I have 6 total.

Wants:
Not sure unless I see it, BUT--having just read everyone's "Have's" list, I MAY want:

Sally---some of your White Wood Hyacynth. I have pink and purple.

Critter--maybe some of your more interesting Mints--but I don't want the invasive ones....Aren't they all???

Greencat---I am interested in your "Autumn Brilliance" fern. What does it look like? Why is it called "Autumn Brilliance"????

Chantell--My Lavender never makes it. Will yours?????

Happy---What is "Begonia Grandis"??? Houseplant? Annual?
I'd like to try it.

Bseward---Blackberry Lilies???? Are they dark, dark blue? I don't have much room, but would like to try some.....

General "Wants": (Have NO clue, really).

Someone posted that they had Morning Glories. I would like to have a COUPLE really pretty ones--NOT the common ones. Anyone have the dark blues? Multis? Purples? Something to twine with my red "Cardinal Climber".
***************************************
I, like many others do not wish to bring anything back home that I brought to swap. I am a generous person, and will gladly give away anything that I have left over.

Thhhh...Thats it, Folks! Will edit as needed.
And----PLEASE!!! I really do not want to start keeping track of who wants what. Too much work!
We will swap when we all get there!

Gita

Sorry! Everything got highlighted in my "edit" and I do not know how to remove the highlights.........:o(

edited my haves again. also happy to give away!

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

Begonia grandis is a shade perennial. Here is the Daves Garden listing: http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/722/index.html. But the photos don't do it justice. It is late to sprout each year (mine is only just barely coming up now), but bursts into bloom in late July/August. Beautiful sparkly pink flowers -- looks magical both up close and from a distance. Makes large colonies eventually, about 24" tall. Only problem is that it will shade out other plants nearby, but if you don't put it near other plants you'll have an empty spot until it fills in since it is late to sprout.

Shenandoah Valley, VA

How did I miss the begonia grandis on your list, Happy?! I've been looking everywhere for it! Oh, please can I have some?

Gita, if that perennial cactus is prickly pear - opuntia - save your fingers and don't worry about bringing any. It's a native plant here and there's gobs of it all over the yard.

If you have plenty of the lilies of the valley, I'd sure like some. I'd love a yellow datura too.

What I'll probably do is go through and see who wants what and set plants aside for them but I should have plenty of most of the things on my list and I'm not worried about one on one trades. I think what's most helpful about this thread is getting an idea of what plants to pot plenty of.

Yes, my creeping jenny and Golden Moneywort are one in the same. I've got it everywhere which is exactly what I needed to control a hill. You can't kill it and that's not for everyone.

Gitagal: As far as the blackberry lily is concerned, they are not a dark flower at all but are a bright yellow. The true name is Belamcanda chinensis 'Hello Yellow'. You can find them in the plant files. Unfortunately, I don't know how to do links to point you in the right direction. Betty

Sequim, WA(Zone 8a)

Oh good, no annuals it is - BUT I will be happy to bring extra foods! I can be the bringer of lots & lots of coookies and desserts! And a sign, "will supply goodies for plants"!!! It looks like I will have to teach myself how to dig and divide stuff eh? I'll take "stock" this weekend and write up a list of haves (some I have no idea what they are - I only "discovered" markers this year LOL) - as said before, wants are easy - I'll take em all!

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Folks might change their minds if they smelled that Stock, Becky...LOL Just came in from outside...the cool temps have my front and back smelling positively heavenly!!!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I'm back from TX! I had a wonderful visit with my friend, and I got a little landscape bed planted for her while I was there. :-)

Happy, I think I'll have a fun assortment for you. When I get to hardening off the peppers, I'll check with you to see if there are any in particular that you want. If there's an extra, I'd love a begonia grandis for my MIL also... I had a couple of little ones for her, but they didn't make it over the winter in their heeled-in pots.

Gita, I think all mints spread, but some are just more aggressive than others. I don't consider the spearmint a thug because it seems to "play well with others" and makes a good groundcover or "shoes & socks" plant in my deck bed. I haven't had the "fancy" mints (Jim Westerfield hybrids) long enough to judge their behavior, and they're still just in pots here anyway. But mints will take a couple of seasons before they just run rampant, so you should be able to try one that appeals to you and just keep an eye on it -- if it starts looking like it wants to run away on you, dig it and pot it to keep it in check. I'll be hardening off my tomatoes over the next few days, so please let me know if/when you or your friend can swing by for some for you... we can chat or Dmail to pick out specific varieties from my extras. :-)

Chantell, thanks for the offer of some vinca. I'm going to propagate it off in some corner over the summer so I can plant it under Mom's maple tree this fall! I love fragrant plants also, so I should be able to come up with something you'll like in return...

I'll go through the posts again more carefully (and take notes!)... but now, I'm going to toddle off to bed. Hope everyone has a fun weekend... TGIF!

Crozet, VA

Oh shoot!!!! Just lost where I had started - so aggravating.!!!

I will have to swap or share:

An Astilbe for Holly. Not sure what color it will be yet.

Day Lilys - un-named and very tiny at this point.

Dusty Miller

Autumn Joy Sedum

Miscellaneous Sedum

Lambs Ear

Artemisia

Other Lilys

Pineapple Sage

Green Hens and Chicks

Will bring some Lily's of the Valley for Hart - how many would you like to have hart?

I willl edit this post if I can think of anything else to bring.

Ruby

Strasburg, VA(Zone 6b)

happy...what color lilac sapling would you like?
i have yellow & purple

would love some spirea if you have enough :-)

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

I just added Wood hyacinth purple, Peonies, and White edged hosta to my list thanks to a neighbor that is moving. She told me to come and take what I want.
Critter, I'll be bringing both Vinca major and Vinca minor, too.
I'll probably bring home anything that doesn't trade and any freebies, too. My Son and DIL have a little over 2 acres of land. This will be there second year. At this point it's just a dug up field and a hedge row. They both have been putting in a lot of work to clean it up. They can use all the free plants they can get.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Sounds like I'd better dig up a couple of "propagation patches" for the vinca -- thanks! My wintersown seedlings are coming along well, but I'm really not going to know what I've got there until I get them up-potted, hopefully by the end of the month. But it sounds like people can use lots of different sorts of things, so whether it's a few extra columbine seedlings or Penstemon digitalis, I'm guessing whatever I bring might find a home. :-)

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

I promise to post a more concise "Haves" list by this weekend. I had a bit of bad luck with Wednesday's T-storm that went through. I had three of those 72-cell seed starters, completely planted up with a huge variety of seeds (mostly for the swap). I had the lids off, as the weather had been very warm and little seedlings were getting some air, etc. The rain hit before I could get home, and was torrential! It "gutted" all three of the starters, almost completely. Out of 200+ seedlings, I have been able to salvage about 25! :-(

Gita, I do have some morning glory. I lost quite a few to the above, but I have extra seed I can start up this weekend if needed. They are fast germinating, so I could have some more up by next week. I have Picotee Blue, Picotee Red, and Flying Saucer (blue and white tie-dye looking).

Karen

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Karen,

Both of the blues would be nice. For the red, I will take a few seeds for next year. I want to plant this by the Cardinal Vine which blooms red, so blue would be a nice contrast.

I will check these out on the PF.

Thanks, Gita

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Karen,
Ditto to Gina - if you have any blues left over - I'd love to give them a home!!!

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

I'll plant the rest of my blues this weekend to get them started, and some of the red. Gita, I'll save you some of the red seed.

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Thanks, Wild Rose! I appreciate that. Are these some really pretty MG's? All I have ever had are the plain, light blue ones--so common!

Critter---I don't think my friend will be able to pull a stop for the Tomatoes. She is really stressing out, as her home here has not sold yet but her VERY high mortgage on her new home is due next month. She is driving there every weekend and really stressing out. I sure wish all things will fall in place for her soon. THEN I can go visit her and you also--on the way.

What is the Tomato that you are saving for me?? I forgot. Can you put it in a 6" pot and just let it grow? I really just have room for ONE more Tomato in my bed. If you have saved me TWO--I will manage somehow to find room for it, even if I have to dig up one of my Cherry tomatoes to do so. I can always put that in a patio pot--maybe give it to my daughter?

Hart-------I will have plenty of the double yellow Daturas. They are now growing well. healthy too. You can't reaally plant them in a bed until they are well established in the 4" pots. Like--6" tall....They DO NOT like their roots messed with. It always sets them back immensly.
They appreciate the "lift out and plant" technique. Do not disturb the roots! That's why they have to be well established.

Gosh! This is getting close! I can't wait!

Gita

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Gita, I'm sorry to hear your friend's move isn't going as smoothly as she'd like. I'm getting my tomatoes sorted out and hardened off now, so I'll Dmail you with a list of the extra tomato plants I have available, and I'll be happy to pot one up for you.. you can pick from pinks, reds, a couple of black and paste varieties, etc. An unknown red variety and 'Pink Potato Top' are the two most reliable performers (abundant, relatively large fruit, wonderful flavor) each year for me... :-)

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Rose!

I like the Picotee blue the best. They are all so pretty!
Can you buy seeds in a package for these prettier Morning Glories?
I should look! We sell seeds at HD!

Thanks for going thru the trouble and posting these.

Gita

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

Those MG's are gorgeous!

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

OMG...heck I'd be happy w/any of them...and to think I've had MG seeds sitting in a packet....what was I thinking? Those are beau-ti-ful!!

Sequim, WA(Zone 8a)

Those are awesome!!!!!!!

Grandpa Ott - good 'ole standby! :-)

Bec,

What you just posted is the one in my memory as a very beautiful one.
Will you be bringing any of them rooted? Have any seeds? I hope so!

Thanks, Gita

Sequim, WA(Zone 8a)

Gita - unfortunately I only have 4 already planted, however, I can get the seeds and bring some along, I do have some mystery ones that I planted last year (seeded) that are coming up, if I can separate them out of the pots they are in I will surely bring some. If anyone is interested I am going to sort out a bunch of books - gardeing, cooking and craft/decorating that I can bring - if anyone wants to give them a good home?
