Forum on seed germination?

I recently got this email from JL Hudson:

Absolutely awesome..it would be a welcomed resource! Rather than comparing various methods from here, there and everywhere and trying to figure out which seedstarting method would be the most productive, I could just inquire info from the trusty seedman. HOW awsesome is that! ;0)

Yes, I think there is a bigger demand than we have considered. I see discussion in tomatoes, vegetable and southwest. Sounds like a good idea to me!

I think a seed starting/germination forum has been requested a couple of times before, so I think there would be good participation, particularily this time of the year. The propagation forum would stay though, right? Or would you rename it to be inclusive?

I'd love to have him as an active participant too... I guess he does not want to simply participate in the existing propagation forum? Or do people think that seed germination information gets too buried there?

I would love to see this forum come into being. Seed starting is one of my favorite ways to experiment in the garden, and I am constantly looking for resource information. This is an area I would love to see at Dave's, since this is my first stop for information when I have a gardening question...

Critterologist, I do think it is sometime hard to find seed stuff in propagation forum, and it may not always be the first place someone looks...but just my two cents :-)

Great! I will create the forum soon and will email JL and let him know about it. I will also specifically ask him to come to the forum and participate!

You may also see if JL Hudson is interested in writing an article. I'd also add a posting about the new forum (maybe as a sticky) in the propagation forum.

Thank you Dave. I didn't even think it was likely to be able to sort out seeds but I'm so glad you did because that's where I have problems.

I just saw this, and I am so thankful that you decided to add it. It will be such a valuable resource, and keep me from wandering all over the web, and getting sidetracked by something else, and having those "but first" moments.
