Forum on seed germination?

I recently got this email from JL Hudson:

Quoting:
I looked over your forums, and thought it would be nice to sponsor a forum on seed germination, where folks can share methods and experiences with germinating (or I should say trying to germinate) the more difficult kinds of seeds. I've had a couple of clients suggest that we have such a forum on our own website, so I know there is some demand for something like that, but I'm not quite ready to tackle something like that myself.

You may know that JL Hudson is a really big name in the seedsman circles and having him be an active participant at DG would be really neat. The question is, though, do we want this forum?

Dave

Nashville, TN(Zone 6b)

YES, I think that his knowledge and the shared information would help many of us.

Betty

North Augusta, ON

Definitely, I think it would be nice to have here since I spend hours searching the web for seed germination tips for specific plants.....I would never have to leave DG at all....ever

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

I think it would be heavenly.Just think of all the time it would save searching all over for info.Hope It Happens! : )
Nancy

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Oh yes please. I have a heck of a time looking for information on the different types of seed for germination.

Donna

Blyth, ON(Zone 5b)

Yes! Yes! Yes! For all of the above reasons :-)

Absolutely awesome..it would be a welcomed resource! Rather than comparing various methods from here, there and everywhere and trying to figure out which seedstarting method would be the most productive, I could just inquire info from the trusty seedman. HOW awsesome is that! ;0)

Cochise, AZ(Zone 8b)

Yes, I think there is a bigger demand than we have considered. I see discussion in tomatoes, vegetable and southwest. Sounds like a good idea to me!

Wilsonville, OR(Zone 8b)

Yes please! That would be great!

Hometown, IL(Zone 5a)

I vote yes! I don't do seeds too often, but it would be nice to have this forum.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I think it is a great idea!

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

I think a seed starting/germination forum has been requested a couple of times before, so I think there would be good participation, particularily this time of the year. The propagation forum would stay though, right? Or would you rename it to be inclusive?

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I'd love to have him as an active participant too... I guess he does not want to simply participate in the existing propagation forum? Or do people think that seed germination information gets too buried there?

Coaling, AL(Zone 7b)

I would love to see this forum come into being. Seed starting is one of my favorite ways to experiment in the garden, and I am constantly looking for resource information. This is an area I would love to see at Dave's, since this is my first stop for information when I have a gardening question...

Critterologist, I do think it is sometime hard to find seed stuff in propagation forum, and it may not always be the first place someone looks...but just my two cents :-)

Great! I will create the forum soon and will email JL and let him know about it. I will also specifically ask him to come to the forum and participate!

I've invited JL to haunt the forum, too.

Beautiful, BC(Zone 8b)

You may also see if JL Hudson is interested in writing an article. I'd also add a posting about the new forum (maybe as a sticky) in the propagation forum.

Thanks Dave! ;0)

Thank you Dave. I didn't even think it was likely to be able to sort out seeds but I'm so glad you did because that's where I have problems.

AWESOME!!!

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

I just saw this, and I am so thankful that you decided to add it. It will be such a valuable resource, and keep me from wandering all over the web, and getting sidetracked by something else, and having those "but first" moments.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

and I see JL has sponsored the forum too. :)

St John's, Antigua and Barbuda(Zone 10a)
