South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Congrats Mark!! You most certainly earned it!! It's a beautiful site, I didn't realize they came in so many colors, but I naturally went to the two-toned one Pepper. It was my favorite...and yours too I see!

I will change the picture, then see how you get on..................... hehehehe

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Mark, I don't know how you could pick a fav. I kind of like 'Out of the West', but they are all very pretty and would certainly brighten any garden.

took me over 4min to do the puzzle...I left the last piece underneath and trouble getting it out LOL

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

only 57 seconds here

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Gram................ I can pic a fav because i get to see them in real life as opposed to on photos. Pepper is definately my fav one... and is the one most people ask about when they see it!!
Yes the Out of the west one is quite pretty too but rather unreliable.....
Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh they are all pretty, look gorgeous when they are all together flowering away like mad!!

4mins........................ wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blooms..................... 57secs is pretty good!!!!!
Have to keep changing the puzzle so t keeps you interested!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Can I grow crocosmias in zone 6b? I have coveted them in catalogs - but didn't know how they would do here. Now I have an expert to ask!

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

I would say yes some of them but not all...................... you will be about at the bottom limit of the hardiness scale there!! Of course you could always grow them in pots and put them in a garage or something for the winter!!!!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Congratulations Mark. A real triumph! I think this calls for TWO bottles of champagne :-)

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Yes! Congratulations Mark! You deserve it. Those photos are fantastic. I'd love to see the plants in real life.

I got 1:17 on your puzzle, then quit.

Harper

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Seandor..................... Thank you very much.................A lot of hard work and dedication has gone into getting it.
Noooooooooooooo not two bottles, cant afford it...........LOL

Harper...............Thank you also......!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep, they are much better in real life........
1: 17.......... thats about the same as i keep getting. For all the people who do it in less than a minute i am going to find a really hard photo to do!!! LOL

Thank you both again

Mark

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Congratulations Mark! It must be such a wonderful feeling to be recognized for something that you love! I think they are a beautiful plant, but I don't have a lot of luck with them. They tend to act like more of an annual in my yard. I think that is why I took to the Candy Lily.

Well, winter's back and I think I just saw Dorothy and Toto fly by!!! Can you believe this wind?

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Anita, the wind has let finally let up here, but it was -2*F this morning when I got up. All the schools are closed again. Would someone look at their calendar for me...does it say March? cuz mine does and this is just wrong :-(

I'm in z6 too, and I've never tried croscomia, but I'm going to HAVE to. at least one. I'll try to pick one that looks like it is rated a bit hardier and put it in a sheltered location. Need to see at least one in person.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Well, Gram, you know what they say about March... "in like a lion" and all.... let's hope the lamb shows up soon. I had to run out early this morning and retrieve my trash cans that had blown all over the neighborhood.

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Yeah, I know. we looked out our back window yesterday and somebody's trash can was blown the whole length of our little frozen lake. no idea where it wound up. it was like a game of musical trash cans out here. I stopped one in my driveway and hung it from a driveway marker so it's owner could claim it. I've lost 2 trash cans and 2 recycling bins since I moved in. I now have a very large, heavy square trash can. at least it can't roll.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Gee, we were expecting the Witch of the West to go by. Our bedroom is THE coldest room in the house. It's on the corner with two big windows and the same size heater as the smaller rooms.

I have crocosmia in my garden; I don't know what kind they are. Last year when they came up we forgot we had planted them the previous fall. All summer we're thinking "are these a new kind of weed? What ARE these things? Should we pull them up?" Of course we were too lazy and then Tada! we remembered! Or more precisely, I said "what are these" and DH said "oh, these are the crocosmia I planted here last fall." Then I said "What! You planted them here? Those were supposed to go around in the new garden on the other side of the house! They don't go here!" Maybe I'm exaggerating... it probably was a little of each.

Thanks for the congrats Anita................... yes it does feel wonderful..!!!!

When are you starting a thread for March's coffee??????????? LOL

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

That seems to happen often around here. He plants things wherever he thinks I said they should go, not where I actually said they should go, LOL. Lots of surprises, every spring!

We could just skip March and go straight to April...
