Great minds....etc. . :-}
Daily Pics - 3
Very cute!
Tigerlily: I think Rock Doves get a bad rap, even if they are pigeons! They are very pretty birds (imo). :)
Great shot in flight - so crisp.
Deb
Oh, I LOVE the Tree Swallow.
I agree Deb. They are beautiful birds. I live not far from 2 grocery stores (across the street from each other) and all day long, you can go to either of them and see a variety of these beautiful birds in the parking lots and on the big parking lot lights. Now and then, I'll find a cheese and cracker, or some other snack that the Grand babies have left in my truck and I'll toss it out for them.
I was sitting at a traffic light across from the mall the other day. There in the mall parking lot I watched about 50 of them soaring around. I wished I'd had my camera handy at that moment in time. As much as I like having one, the old phone camera just wouldn't have done the moment justice at all.
Our weather is warming up here and I plan on getting out there this weekend to get the backyard critter ready. Lately, if it hasn't been cold, it's been raining. I'm so enjoying this beautiful sunshine we've had today.
Thanks everyone for posting these beautiful birds. It's lovely seeing birds from around our great country.

Oh WOW!!!! I just saw that gorgeous cobalt blue tree swallow. Absolutely gorgeous!!!! I love all things cobalt blue!
I think I'll go back for another look. Thanks TigerLily for sharing your bounty with us. You can keep posting those "old" photos as much as you want! I'll just keep drooling at the beauty in those files!
Hah! You can't even imagine how many times I took photos of the Tree Swallows, but the lighting was never right. I really whooped it up when I first saw this one on my screen!
I'm glad you're enjoying these!
The Killdeer is adorable!
You must have the patience of Job! Every one of the birds you post is looking right atcha! I love it! The golfdinch is quite a beautiful bird.
Really great pics tiger!!
Wow! If I commented appropriately on each of these pics I'd be up all night, so let me just saw AWESOME!!!!!!!
All were great, I am with Murmur, can't comment on all of them.
Lith, the shot with the head out the birdhouse looks like a penquin with the 2 tone coloring.
Tigerlily: Wonderful pics. We had very few Goldfinches this year, and we don't see them in summer at all. So bright!
Also love the Killdeer's big brown eyes.
Linth: As always - another amazing shot. How did you accomplish the Swallow in the bird house photo?
Deb
Great pics everyone! Pel, Mr. Nasty Face is really an appropriate title for that picture LOL!
Wow, I missed a few days and I see there has been a lot of activity! Oh goody Pell - grackles are a sure sign of spring!!
Tigerlily, your shots are awesome! I also love the tree swallow one. A few years back a pair of tree swallows where checking out a bluebird house in my back yard. I ruined it by sneaking too close for a better look. The swallows caught sight of me and flew away making angry noises. Wahh!
Beautiful shot linth.
The intrepid squirrel. "Fraid of nothin'!! LOL!
lilyfantn, that swallow and mate nested just feet from the door. They pay little attention to me or my yappy little dachshunds. One year swallows started to set up housekeeping before I even got the nest box up.................it was hanging on the 4' fence. I was concerned they might be disturbed when I mounted the box, but they went on as if nothing was wrong.
I have the Tree Swallows and English Sparrows nest here, and many, many Blackbirds set up housekeeping in the cedars in the yard. I'm not at all fond of the Blackbirds. The males may attack when the young are fledging, and they are communal parents. The young fledge on the ground, and I feel compelled to save them from my little hounds. I have an old cage I will put outside the fence with rescued young (leaving the door open), and have had as many as eight adults diving at me. Remember "The Birds"? The males can be particularly agressive. They DO hit me, and torment the dogs all season.
6'5" DH had a tom turkey encounter as a young child, and the effects of that attack are still with him. He's not much help outside during the BB fledge. LOL He's even afraid of the hummers. ;-)
Tigerlily, anytime I see a swarm of birds I think of that darn movie!!! It's amazing I love birds so much as that movie freaked me out completely (and I was an adult!!).
Linth, that photo of the squirrel on the fox is priceless!
I haven't had any particularly good photos lately, but got a kick out of this "Scoter Wannabe."
Cute squirrel, looked real until I opened it. LOL! The "wannabe" is a cutie Murmur.
