$25 today - thought it started tomorrow??

Dave, your posts on the subject mention the price increase starts 2/15 but it is in effect today. What happened?

I changed the wording in the message but the price is still $15 until midnight tonight. You will see the actual price when you go to buy the actual subscription.

How would I purchase a gift subscription for someone who is not currently a member?

I think they would probably have to sign up as a member first, then you can buy them a subscription.

Go to subscriptions and it gives you an option to add subscription for another member.

That's the catch tho, it says another "member". Maybe I could sign out and try to join for this person. ?

I read in the FAQ's that I could sign them up if I wanted to register a name for them that they'd use.

If they don't like the name you choose, they are allowed a one time name change. :)

To subscribe a non-member, you will need to register their username for them - we must have a username to apply the gift subscription. (If they dislike your choice after they login, they can contact us for a one-time change.)

To accomplish the sign-up process, you'll need to logout, then register here:

as though you are them, with the username you think they'd like and their email address.

Once you've done that, and received a message indicating it was successful, you'll need to log back in as yourself, then click on the subscriptions link (just below the main feature tabs across the top) and choose one of the "gift subscription" options, and follow the steps.

Uh-oh, something happened. I logged out then signed my dad up under a new name. It made him a member then I logged in as me and paid for it.

I wasn't sure how it would set up a password for him tho? He said today that he got on Dave's with no password. Well, today I saw that "I" posted something that I didn't so he must have and it shows my name! ??? Help!

konkreteblond, can you report this to our helpdesk? Just use the "Contact Us" link and be sure to include the username you chose for him so we can get it straightened out.

There is a cookie put on your computer when you log on and it will continue to log you on unless you click "log off" after that your father will be taken to the sign-on page on start of Dave's Garden where he can use his screen name and password to log in, after that on that computer it will log him on unless he logs off.

Excuse Me "logout" not log off.

He's using a computer at his own house tho. If it didn't somehow confuse us the only other thing I can think of is that last week or so I was over there and logged in to DG to show him the site, but I remember logging out so that if he went to it it wouldn't do this.

Something has gone awry because it showed my user name on his computer. He logged out, deleted cookies, requested a password and then tried to sign in but it said it failed. I logged out on my computer, used his name and the password and it logged me in under my name. Huh?

Terry, any idea how long it might take for me or my dad to get some sort of answer? Will we get some sort of email regarding my email? He's tried to login again with the password sent to him but it won't work. I don't want him to get discouraged before he even gets to use DG!
