What do you consider the best thing that happened to you in 2006? It would be interesting to know. LIZ

DH and I went to Pearlington Mississippi on a church mission trip, to do construction in the "Katrina Zone". It was the best "vacation" we ever had. We definitely took away more than we left there. The people in that area have such generous and resilient spirits. It was a life-changing experience. As a side note, the fresh shrimp down there were so good, that I wouldn't eat shrimp for a month when we came back, so as not to mess with the memory. Very often, the generosity of the people in the region took the form of food. We ate our way across Hancock County and even into New Orleans for one night, and we still lost 5 lbs apiece! I'd do that again! LOL

Congrats Mrs. Colla!

I have a small family and we have never been very close but in the past few years my sister and I have been staying in contact on a somewhat regular basis. She came to visit my husband and I for a few days in December and it really was special to have her here.

2006 was the best of the best! I grew up out here in the country and left home for college at age 17. Now my children are all grown with children of their own...............they all get to come home now to granny out in a remodeled farmhouse they remember from childhood and so does their mother. My life has changed dramatically from living in the city all those years of adulthood. Lots of gardening, lots of prison ministry work, and the grandchildren coming down to ride everything from a giant mower, to the gator and tractors, and feeding deer and cattle. I don't deserve this life, but I find it easy to stay in an attitude of gratitude each and every day....I am just now starting to landscape around the house....got lazy last fall and just planted down in the veggie garden...They are just starting to bloom, including 480 snapdragons!!! Life can't get any better than this at the age of 65.

Yes, congrats Mrs. Colla - who is that looking at that lovely photo? I know there are people in the pet forum who would love to meet this beautiful kitty.

For me it was a health scare and because of that I quit smoking - 57 days now.

Elsie, that is Sparkie, my little she-cat!
Congratulations on stopping smoking!

I have a great book on the subject, also on PDF, and it seems to do miracles.
Dmail me if you want it too!
