Photo/Edits Question for Dave

Houston, United States(Zone 9b)

Dave,

I do not mark my pictures I contribute with a copyright mark so when I posted one just recently and then copy and pasted the large image from Dave's, trying to send it from my real email box as well the picture copied in my email with UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS....???? I would think this would not happen if I claim no rights to the photo? If this is not the case or cannot be fixed then there is no reason to NOT use the copyright mark, correct???

Also, I wanted to edit my original post in a thread to include a photo and this feature is not available. Likewise, you can no longer delete a photo from a post you have made when editing the post. Would you consider changing this so we could edit/add pictures to our posts?

Thank you in advance for your answers and for a great site!

DG is not a photo hosting site, so when you upload a photo to DG it appears here but it not available to be viewed elsewhere. If you want it shown someplace other than DG you need to upload it separately there. Or, use a photo hosting service like pixamo.com or flickr.com

You can't add or remove a photo from a post here in the forums, for technical reasons...

Dave,

Thank-you for a very prompt reply! I completely understand. Thank-you. Does this mean then there is no danger in not having a copyright logo printed on your photo? I guess what I'm asking is...is there a point in having the copyright logo if the image cannot be moved from site to site or email?

Dave,

Hey, it seems when you make an edit now and do more than one to your post it only notes the latest time and date of an edit, thanks for adding this feature. I like not having my post look so sloppy with multiple edits!

Tir_Na_Nog, there is still no protection against someone doing a "File-Save As" on your image at DG and uploading it to their own website, ebay auction, etc. We see those occasionally and we always send them a scary letter telling them to stop stealing our members' images. But, often it happens and we don't know about it so a copyright statement is always smart.

If you ever see someone using a DG member's image on another site you should report it to us so we can contact them.

Will do Dave. And am adding a copyright logo to mine on DG. Will it imprint on past photos I've shared here?

No, only on new images going forward. Once we insert a photo into DG it is not alterable.

This question is for Dave and hopefully it falls under this category, if not I apologize.

I wrote a D-mail, put it into my drafts to finish it later, then when I did open it back up there was no place to insert my photo. Did I just do it wrong, or is this not an option with the Draft mail? Thanks in advance.

A.

I don't think you can add an image to your draft dmails...

Tir, I just tried to edit a post a few times and there were mulitple edit stamps. I know that I can delete those edit stamps, but I did get more than one. Dave, did you change something like Tir said in this post: http://davesgarden.com/forums/p.php?pid=3149356 or is it still the same?

Houston, United States(Zone 9b)

Hmmm..good question! I hate the multiple edit "stamps" but it didn't do it last time I posted. Dave?

You have to delete the previous edit notes...

Dave,
Thanks for response.. I probably should have inserted the photo first before putting it into my drafts, i'll try that sometime.

Thanks Tir_Na for letting me interrupt here..

one more question (for today)...

Is it possible to make a new entry in the DG Diary, then insert the photo later? I am asking because I have sown several MGs and some have not germinated yet, so was thinking of getting the entries ready for they do germinate.

Thank you.

Yes, you can do that, just click "edit" underneath the entry you want to add the picture to and you can add in a picture (or change the one you have for that entry if you get a better one).
