Welcome to Dave's, Dawndelie, and thanks for posting the pics! You have some gorgeous plants. I hope those mushrooms give up the ghost soon.

dawn, I have huge beds of broms. and i have never even knew something like mushrooms could be so bad!! We are in such a high humidity climate, and i do have some mushrooms pop up when we have our rainy season here, but there is no contamination of the bromeliads? How awful!! I wonder what you can do, and not damage the bromeliads? So sorry.....sue

i just planted all these ones under a royal poinciana tree so they get quite a bit of sun in winter and a light shade in summer.

Not many people take a long shot of brom beds for some reason. I know for me they are hard to frame in a shot. The camera doesn't see what the eye sees.

My eye see many more shades of green than the camera. In the shot below they all end up looking like a similar 'grassy' plant, but, they were many shades of green in the bed.

I work for a lady that collects and she is a member of the local chapter of the Brom Society. We set aside a bed for brom's only. I tried to plant different colors next to each other to bring out/show some contrast. When planting I always put the short plants in front.

Had a tree stump that needed covering, since the soil was thin I planted these>

They are not a easy plant to work with sometimes. My favorites are the big ones>

The most interesting plantings I have seen....

or in containers.

My brother likes to move his plants around, like they were furniture. I used to give him leftovers from some of my jobs, not any more. He moves things around until they die. I have given him some brom's and told him they have to be kept in containers, it worked, he hasn't killed any of my gifts in months.

This red one is a sun lover. Sun loving brom's are hard to come by. I like them best because most of them have good color.
