These are not the best pics but about all I could manage with what little time I had after work.

Very nice pic Deb!
Debnes: love your Kinglet!
Sheila: Nice shots! I like the markings on the waxwing. Like little bandit masks.
Today out my office window I counted a crowd of 24 robins hopping around. Funny but we never see them here in our yard, but they're at my office only 3 miles away.
I would love to see an Indigo bunting or a tanager. We're supposed to get Indigos in summer and supposedly the occasional migrating Scarlet tanager, but I've never seen one. (I wonder what they like to eat. Hmmmm.)
Here's a slightly more common visitor, not the best mockingbird pic ever, but I liked his attitude. :)

Thats so funny! Wish it wasn't so cold up here or I'd put a Hummer feeder out.
Nice closeup deb!
Have y'all gone to www.gardens.com and signed on yet? I am out there now seeing if this will post back to DG. This thread with all of our pictures has been put on there, maybe as a test?
Thanks for pointing out the mistaken Id on the warbler Resin! I didn't look too close when I took it because it was on the DH's camera and he edited it. Going back I see it definately wasn't the Kinglet. Yea! a new bird at my feeder!!
This was a Mockingbird, or so I thought until we edited it. Now I am not sure, what do you guys think? It was out in the country south of here.
Now I am going back to DG to see if this is there. Yep!! it is here!!

My wife and I were fortunate to see a Scarlet Tanager spend several hours eating all the yellow jackets from a large nest right above our living room window. First, it ate all the workers as they returned to the nest, resting in a nearby tree at times when waiting for a yellow jacket to return. After no more came to the nest after about a half hour, he started plucking the grubs from the nest, flying away with each one. There were probably about 30 of them. After he had removed the last one, my young rescued Jay was having a fit, as he had been watching also from his window perch.
So I went out and fetched the empty nest and gave it to him. He tore it into bits quickly. In about a half hour the Tanager returned and spent about a half hour searching for the nest. I think he thought he was losing his mind. This was in Houston about 20 years ago.
ROFLOL!!! That was a cruel trick Trois! LOL!!
GREAT pics trois!! Thanks so much!!
Sheila yes it is a Mockingbird.
Looks like the wind is blowing the feathers up on the neck and back making his head look different, but I'm pretty sure it is Mock :>
Lemme see if I can find one with a similar angle...
Thanks pelletory!
That is definitely a Mockingbird sitting in a Mesquite tree.
I guess I am not used to looking at them all puffed up from the cold! LOL! And I think the tuff blown up by the wind was throwing me too. I just clicked a few shots and we drove on, so I didn't see him fly either.
Nice cardinal shots Trois, and your Mock to Debnes.
My Mocks all sit around all puffed up.... they also, all sound like they have smoker's cough.. Tchak, Tchak, Tchak, cracks me up.
Thanks, deb and Sheila.
Trois, nice closeups of the Cardinals. Excellent feather details. I especially liked the female -- seldom see good closeups of them.
Thanks.
Way cool Debin!
We only get a couple Robins at a time around here..Now I see how gregarious they really are after all!
Nice pic!
Wow, DebinSC!!! I've never seen more than five or six at a time, usually less!! And super photo - love that one is in motion - can you crop that and bring it up closer, or will it diminish the quality too much?
Murmur: I'd never seen that many either. Like Debnes, I don't think I've ever seen more than 2 at a time. I have a feeling the picture will be too mushy if I bring it in any further. It was low light and a glary gray sky behind - plus that's a real tall tree! :) I'll give it a try tho and post it if it's worth a look. Taking my camera with me today - maybe I'll get a chance at a better shot.
Deb
Thanks, all, for the wonderful bird pics! I'll be back for more...soon. I especially liked the Painted Bunting pics. Only once did I see one in real life...beautiful!

Pretty boring out in my backyard lately - tons of Juncos, Towhees, Finches, Sparrows, Downey & Hairy Woodpeckers, Flickers, Steller's Jays, etc. I love watching them, but nothing exciting to take a picture of right now . . .
Mur~ That sounds exciting to me, lol!
I'll see if I can come up with any pics that might be interesting - it will probably be tomorrow, though, as I have to go to work now and it will likely be dark before I get home.
Here's to good bird watching for everyone!!
good pic pelletory!
Great pic!
We've got some kind of sparrows that I've only seen on the ground. I seem to see them in the evenings and with it being cloudy here lately when I get home, it's too dark to get a clear pic, plus they zip around like crazy.

It is rainy, snowy, and cold here. I did make it home a littler earlier than normal, but had to distrupt the birds feeding to get pictures. It is almost dark and they don't have much time to eat. The only pictures I get are usually on weekends. :0(
