Birding's a hobby; world list just over 700 (just short of 400 in UK, just short of 500 in Western Palaearctic region; total 250 in North America on 2 trips).

Here's the next . . . sorry about the one in front being blurred! Fairly easy, if you have the right books.

Portland, OR(Zone 8a)

Defenetly i need right books, cause I did not even know , about the Northern Bold one..:(........LOL

Northumberland, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

Yes to Claypa and Debnes on the English name (tho' the sci name is Geronticus eremita; G. calvus is Southern B. I.) . . . over to you for the next round!

Birdscrazy - getting the right family without knowing the species' existence is still doing very well!

Photo last April, near Tamri, Morocco (where the largest wild population of this critically endangered species occurs).

Portland, OR(Zone 8a)

Claypa !! where is that Resin`s wikipedia,? is it somewhere on google or where ?? here on DG??

West Pottsgrove, PA(Zone 6b)

It's on the internet, it's like an encyclopedia. People can make entries and edit articles. A lot of times when you do a google search, wikipedia will have an article about what you're looking for. I went looking at Chukars to see what birds are related.

Northumberland, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

Yep, Red-legged Partridge. To tell from Chuckar, note the black spots on the breast below the black throat band - Chuckar has just a solid black band with no spots below it.

Thanks Claypa !. I went there from your link, don`t know , how to navigate i guess, I went science, then natural science, the ornithology , then I got lost, cause I don`t see any pics or don`t know how to get to them.
I did typed Chukar and no pics , being polish and blonde ain t helping either !!!!!!!!!!! :)

Portland, OR(Zone 8a)

Resin ! Ya i see the difference, googling in this situation is not helping, due to the fact , that some some pics posted there are not coming from reliable sources. You have to know, which site is credible enough.!!

Good exercise !!! lol!! next round??

Linthicum Heights, MD(Zone 7a)

All of my personal photos are of relatively common birds. But, here is one that I hear long before I see it.

Great pic of a beautiful bird Linth!

Anchorage, AK(Zone 4a)

linth is it a Yellow-breasted chat?

birdscrazy a tip on googling bird pic's, enter the scientific name into Google and do an image search. This will take you to university and government data bases, which are credible. (only go to sites ending in .ed or .gov) If you do not have ready access to the scientific name Google the common name first to obtain the scientific name.

Northumberland, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

Yellow-breasted Chat for me too

Resin

Linthicum Heights, MD(Zone 7a)

It is a Yellow-breasted Chat (Icteria verins). It is a member of the warbler family but much larger than other warblers. Once you are familiar with its sound you will not mistake it in the future.

Portland, OR(Zone 8a)

Thank You Grass.. I will do that :) I got here to late... at least for that one. Gosh is beautiful bird, never saw yet live one

Northumberland, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

Time for another one . . . fairly tricky, so I'll give a clue: location, Morocco
