LOL, I'm not guessing but this is fun!
Quiz time
I'm resisting the urge to ask if it is an owl. Just so I can say I am participating!!!
Resin , where are ya??????..lol
So I can go in peace to the farm life forum and finish up my reading there...LOL :)
Female Pine Warbler?
Resin , where are ya??????..lol
Sound asleep at half past three in the morning!!!
Congrats Claypa, you're very nearly there with Olivaceous Warbler . . . this one's a close relative
Another clue - the reason I took the photo was to help document a very rare bird, this one is only the third individual of its species to be recorded in Northumberland
Resin
Thx Resin~ That was tough! My brain is thouroughly fried now.. lol!
Thanks Resin, now I gonna better stay PERMANENTLY with reading the farm life tread ....LOL !!
Well...thats almost cheating ;-o. Only three, and you got one. How interesting to see. I think an owl was about as close I was was going to get too.
Chiff Chaff crossed my consideration too...
Melodious Warbler?
Not Melodious, they're greener/yellower
Resin
Beautiful!!!
Resin, is your bird an Olive-tree Warbler?
Portland...Bali Mynah?
Yes, Floridian :-)
They are soooo beautiful!
Resin...Greenish Warbler?
Nope, nope . . . Olivaceous is still the closest yet.
Resin
While working on Resin's bird, here's another
Leucopsar rothschildi (Bali Starling, a.k.a. Rothschild's Mynah)
Resin
Reed Warbler, maybe ???
Definatly Bali Starling.
Western Olivaceous Warbler
Still not taken yet . . .
(long day ahead t'moro, won't be back here for c.18 hours)
Resin
Ugh Oh, Now your all going to stewing, lol.
Long days sound no fun. I hope we find the bird ID as a welcome back. I know ive tried to no avail.

LOL
Savi`s warbler !!!!!!! :(
Hear ya Gras... We're running out of UK Warblers..Or maybe it's so rare only a few people even know of it.
Resin should be home soon, judging from his last post here.
Good luck y'all!
Resin: The last time I tried, I missed your clue (Hippolasi rama is "almost there"). So I googled Hippolasi images and now I agree with Floridian. It is a Icterine Warbler. However, if that image was labeled, an Arctic Warbler, and put in a collection of Arctic Warbler pictures, it is doubtful anyone would challenge the identification---simply because the photo is so poor, and the bird is only partially visible.
Hey , guys, I have a fun, like never before !!
So many sites I went on to search, it is really good exercise , some birds I saw , I would never see yet !!
Thank You Resin, I do really enjoy , because it is challenging. :)
Linthicum gets it! (and has obviously now also found my same pic posted on wikipedia :-)
Booted Warbler Hippolais caligata. A classic 'cream coffee' coloured individual, found by the wardens on the Farne Islands that morning; I was one of the lucky few others to be able to get to see it (it was gone the next day).
Icterine Warbler is larger and yellower/greener. Arctic Warbler (being a Phylloscopus) is different shape, has a strong supercilium, and is also greener. Barred Warbler is larger and heavier, and greyer.
Resin
Wow !! now , after googling booted warbler I can see it is that !!! lol
Resin a lots of fun, come up with the next one..:)
Resin, congratulations on that find and photo. I would have thought it was a sparrow if I saw in the field (lol). Obviously, we are all impressed with your knowledge and can learn immensely from your experiences. I, for one, would like to hear a little about your birding background, i.e. is birding/photography a hobby or profession ? How many birds do you have on your World List ? Anything you would like to add would be appreciated.
Thanks for sharing your expertise ....
Edited for spelling ...
