OK gotta ask. I can only assume that these initials have got to have something to do with, husbands, wives, sons and daughters right? But the letter D means what? Dear? Danged? Darling? Or to the morbid such as myself and the things I have seen and done Dead? Which gives a whole new meaning to the words Daves Garden. I don't wish to seem ignorant but these are initials that I have seen on no other forum so please indulge me.

What a uplifting story. I know Chase is a special boy.
Snipe...hmmmm....are you the snipe we were always looking for when we were kids? Snipe Hunting...AHHHH What memories! LOL (laughing out loud)
As to to "D" Some say it is DEAR...or DARLING....and depending on the what mood we are in when we mention our spouse/family....it can be DARNED!
Here is a web site that explains a lot of them.
Enjoy!!

I appreciate the info I have wondered a lot about yall using it and always felt like it was to stupid to ask but curiosity finally got the best of me.
As for snipe I have been told that it is a bird but in my case it is an engineering designation for the propulsion crew of a naval warship. To us snipe hunters where on subs or missiles which is where you want to hit a ship first to cripple it. If they got lucky and hit my part of the ship taking out the boilers you stood a good chance of breaking the ship in half usually leaving no survivors.
What a wonderful thought.

Don.....Thanks for the enlightenment....my DGD (darling granddaughter) was on the USS Abe Lincoln when President Bush landed...infact...you have seen her picture on the news many times when they pictured him landing on the ship....She was a "shooter" on the flight deck. She is still in the Navy but has shore duty in San Diego now. Her BF (boy friend) is stationed aboard the USS Nimitz and he took me up on the flight deck...I climbed so many stairs/ladders I thought I would have to camp for a while!
I'm too old for that kind of climbing....here I am UP HIGH!!

Theres nothing little about them carriers. I was part of DESRON 10 assigned to the USS America.
We ran submarine screen for the group during the cold war. I didn't notice nothing much cold about it. Got drunk with some Russian sailors once at a neutral port. Its true they drink like fish. Been everywhere from the North Pole in winter,to Lebanon, and to a full 6 months of fun in the sun in Gitmo Cuba and everything in between. Even met the King of Denmark once. Makes for a lot of sea stories thats why I tell them on MY Space. My eldest was on two Boomers. You ain't seen big till you seen one of them. Scary.

I lived in Port Orchard, Washington, just across the bay from Bremerton during the last year of WW2.........and we would watch the biggest carriers of that time go in and out of the ship yard there...The Wasp, The Hornet, my Dad worked at the ship yard.
Looks like we could swap "war stories" for a while...LOL Jo
If not me certainly my son he was stationed in Bremerton.
