Need help posting additional pics in a thread

Northwest, MO(Zone 5a)

Under the African Violet Forum I posted another new topic with some of my photos.

More new Pictures
I was able to post two of my pics, but the other two I sent evidently did not go through. I do the normal....browse, select pic, preview, then send. And they don't go through. Can you help?

The same thing happened yesterday afternoon. There are several pics I sent through that are still floating around in cyberspace :)

How large are the photos (in pixels or file size)?

Did you add words into the post along with the picture? I learned there has to be words along with the picture or it doesn't go thru.

Terry, I just posted another four pics and the fifth one I tried to post did not show up. The four previous pics I posted were 299 KB, 312 KB, 227 KB, and 235 KB. The fifth one I tried to post had 251 KB. I did discover that you have to add words in the message box before it will allow you to post a pic. Any advice on this?

When you put words in the message box in the last one, did you use the exact same words as in one of the previous posts? I think you may need to say something slightly different, otherwise maybe the system thinks you're trying to double post?

Terry I just continued trying to post my pics, and eventually they all went through. Some I had to try and post two times before they went through.

The best advice for pictures is

1) Be sure you add a unique caption (text) to each one, otherwise, you'll never see a "send" button.

2) If your pictures are taking a long time to upload, try using your photo editor to reduce them to no more than 800 x 600 pixels, or even 640 x 480 pixels - both are still plenty large for most computer screens.

Also, changing from .gif to .jpg when you save them will diminish the quality of the resolution, but for those on dialup or otherwise finding their photos take a long time to upload, the tradeoff may be worth it.

Okay...thanks for your help.

If I just do the browse, pick a photo and hit send, there will be no post by me. Unless it's been changed.......
