KARMITA OSTA MONTEVIDEO PUNTA DEL ESTE...Huh???

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

No se habla Espanol.

My dearest, bestest, sweetest sister-in-law gave
me a pair of interesting pants today. Solid black,
skin tight leather pants. I'm thinking they aren't quite
my style (to say the least) so she said she didn't mind
what I did with them. Guess I could put them on and
work the corner. ;-)

I gave Ebay a gander to see what I could find in a
similar item, but nothing.

KARMITA OSTA

The label reads something I assume is Spanish. This
is the site I found on Google:

http://www.guiadelaindustria.com.py/detalle.php?par_empresa_id=91415&par_nrosucursal=0

Could someone who knows Spanish visit the link and give me
a general idea about the site? I would certainly appreciate any assistance.

Thank you so much!

WUVIE, the link you provided is sort of an industrial guide and only indicates the address, telephone number of the company and that they manufacture leather clothes.

Maybe you could copy what the lable says.

BTW, leather from Uruguay is usually first class. When I was a teenager (very, very long ago) I would have given anything for a pair of leather trousers. My father thought they were not appropriate for a respectable young lady, but at least he bought me first a leather jacket and years later a beautiful overcoat.

Hello Ursula,

Actually, that helps a great deal. The pants were a gift to her
from a man who would have spent more than a few dollars on them.

There is no other label on the pants, anywhere, only the initial label
at the back of the waist which reads Karmita Osta Montevideo Punta Del Este.

But the information about Uruguay is helpful, too. Many thanks! :-)

Punta del Este is the TOP beach in Uruguay, an expensive place (not for middle class people). This could be an indicator of the quality (or maybe not).

I made a Google search in Spanish, but did not find anything either. Maybe they were too exclusive and are now bankrupt?

Not middle class indeed.

At the time she received these pants, she was living in a gorgeous
home with white carpet, a maid, a gardener, pool boy, the whole shebang.
I couldn't afford to even 'look' at her home. LOL.

Santiago, Chile(Zone 9b)

A gardener? She deprived herself from the joy of having dirt under her fingernails? LOL

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Oh, Ursula, you would be so proud of her today. She's traveled from
living in a high dollar community in a busy city driving a Jag to living
in the country driving a souped up golf cart around the grounds.
She even has overalls and a floppy hat now! She's even been known
to go to town with a pony tail and no makeup. I'm thrilled to have her
in my life!

When she began gardening, her hubby made one of the rooms into
a little greenhouse. When she shared the greenhouse as a doggie
room with his two dogs, I knew she'd made progress.

When she bought clothing in the Goodwill, I knew we'd come far. LOL.

:-)

Good girl! She qualifies as a DG member! Tell her I want to see her here.

Wuvie I'm here to pick. I went to the end of time and found you as among the first of this grand and illustrious group. Question did Dave give up his place in Tenn. cause I noticed his location as Bryan, Tx. with no further reference to Tenn. and second what did yall do bury old Dave out in the forums somewhere I found his posts to be entertaining.

Don

Hello Don,

Oh my. I feel flattered!

LOL

The only way I can keep up with folks is when they post to their
journals, but there isn't much to read about the move.

Dave, dearest, where are you?

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

Theres that dearest thing, you'll be calling him sweetie too! LOL From another thread started I'm afraid.

LOL Don, ah, but I'm not a teenie bopper. Compared to
Dave, I'm likely old, too, so I can get away with it.

Bwa ha ha!

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

Well I found Dave spends most of his time in a voting booth or separating the children with me having been one of them a couple of weeks back. But as for getting old I notice Dave don't get out much anymore. Least ways as far as starting topics goes and then getting involved. Must be a full time job just keeping this thing up and running. I also noticed that things must have got nasty after 9/11. That a shame.

Don
