Got my seeds today, yea!! Problem: They aren't growing yet, what's wrong?
Robin

Yes , mine arrived toooo first day I have some free time, its off to buy a new pot and some dirt!

This was a fun idea.

I've got babies showing in the pot. Whoopee! I'm desparate for spring to get here. Can ya tell?

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Roby, Did you already plant yours?

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Yep I did. Was I not supposed too? I wanted them blooming for a nice spring color to get me into the mood for when it's time to go and work outside in March. I have them in my makeshift green house (dining room) with all my other seedlings. We're going to have to eat in the living room soon, if I keep adding plants and seed trays.

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

You are doing good. Your dining room sounds like mine. My sister is a neat freak and hates the way I have plants and what have you all over.

Belleville, IL(Zone 6b)

You can start them anytime you want as long as they are well lighted. LOL
Good luck with your container. I still need to either buy a new container for mine, or dump out one from last year and clean it up. I would rather buy a new one as they have so many pretty ones available now.

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Great, they are under the gro lights and two of the four are up and thriving. Hopefully tomorrow I will find more little heads popping up. The little buggars are soooo cute.

Some things can take up to two weeks or more to germinate so don't give up on anything. I had a pot of soil sitting in the window and I kept wondering if I had maybe just forgotten to put seeds into it. Some days I would think maybe I would just toss it.
After waiting impatiently, but still holding out for hope, little greenies finally appeared. LOL
They just have this internal clock like we do that tells them just the right amount of time it takes to pop up.
Now I have four little shrubs to be growing.

When stuff seems slow, I usually do the Curse n Stir method. You curse at the pot, stir it up and put different seeds in there. Within a few days, what you were waiting for will appear.

I'm serious!!!

Knowing me I'll accidently get dirt all over the place doing that. Whoops there go the seeds.

LOL! Now THAT is funny!!!!

I do know that I threatened some African Irises that if they didn't bloom after being in the ground for over 2 years that I was going to rip them out and toss in the trash. Guess what? Within a month they started blooming and are still blooming!!! That little secret was shared with me by another DGer. LOL! It works! So I may try your Curse N Stir idea, too .....X!

When I get upset with the flowers not sprouting I just put in the pot and throw out in the cold. When spring arrives so do little plants. Works pretty good.
