Hey does Margaritas have calories????mine don't!!!Then how many days did it take you to drink hard???Thats the important question!!!

Sooooooooo.that means lots of calories...but if you drink lots of water it does flush out those calories..at least thats my way of thinking!!!Good excuse I guess,works for me!!!

Well sun is out here too....what a hour can do when you live in this part of the state...hahaha....already 32...going shopping....that should take care of my day...waving.....The sun brings out..the spend money in me..hehehe..course we have to eat.....think veggies...hahaha...mmmmm food again....Thinking seasoned Chicken breast..over a bed of Greens...with a little crumbed bacon..nice sauce..with rice I think...yes..that will do us......waving...

Back from shopping- left a major part of my bank account at babies r us...Think I have all the gifts I need for all the showers..phew...what a load of work.. But afterwards went out to lunch...ahhh...now that was worth it. I am embarassed to admit it, but I think I have eaten out every single day since Christmas!! Going out tomorrow night too....keeping the economy moving here in Mich!!

Hey Dem...thanks for sending me seeds....haven't received them yet, but will let you know when I do. Now...tell me how to get them to sprout!!

Time for a little siesta....hey...did any of you see the cold, frigid weather coming out way!! Get out the long johns..

I just sent them out yesterday...I let them soak in warm water for a few hours then put them in paper towel in a baggie..for about a day...Put them in pots & watch them grow..when their about 6 inches high I give them a haircut!!!The ones I started bloomed the first year...they sure got lots of attention from everyone!!!I know you will like them!!!If its just for the look..

The wind has been brutal here today, the wind chill has beeb around 10 or 12 degrees all day. Mother nature is playing catch up.

Went out into the cold to go to the Dentist.
Numbed me up, took out old filling, built up broken tooth, then filed it down, then took cast for a crown.
Now that the numbness is going away, I'm in 'ouchville'. Time for a tylenol!

DD and her band friends will be here soon to practice ... at least I got the house cleaned before the novacain wore off. LOL

too, I haven't started anything yet...I tend to start way too early and things get leggy...I'm planning on doing petunias in the near future, but not sure what else...I just don't seem to have the oomph to get started planting this year. Plus fighting with aphids has been a real downer...just can't seem to overcome them. Time for my jammies now...I'm pooped.

Dem - the seeds arrived!! Now you must tell me how to start them!!

Winter storm watch here...fat chance I think!! Forecasters are loving this...it's been so warm and boring for them - they are on every few minutes telling of what is to come. Makes me laugh...

Still haven't planted a single seed...I'm really slow this year. DH and I did bring in a huge pot of asparagus fern. I started some a couple of years ago and they have gotten huge...and lush....and beautiful! I moved it into the garage this fall and it thrived there, but I knew it would freeze as our temps are going down to 12 this week.

Time for french toast for breakfast!!

Well they are calling for Ice & Snow here today :( dh said it is suppose to get really nasty out.

Well I have lots of jugs started and lots more to do, so if the nasty weather comes I have plent to do... I just hope it waits to start until we get back from Church b4 the Ice storm hits... I hate driving when it is Icy out... It is raining out right now :(

Well we have ice here...not on the lake..but everywhere else...heheh...temp is 31F.....not very pleasant..for sure..but well....it will not last...lol..crazy weather..really not complaining though.

The temp is hanging right around 32 . I went to church around 9:30 and put ice melt on the steps and sidewalks, some spots were iced up and other areas were just wet.

I heard the farther north you are the worse it will be overnight. I hope the rain stops, if it continues and freezes, tree limbs will break off and take power lines with them. Missouri and Illnois got blasted yesterday with ice.

It's a coming folks!!! We brought a ton of wood inside for the woodstove, so we'll be warm!! Wonder how many schools will be closed tomorrow??

Luckily a lot of the schools are closed anyway for MLK day.

No mail, and the banks are closed also on Mon.

we got alot of snow and drifting and my kids would have had school today-but they got a snowday becuz we got alot of SNOW
The first snow of 2007 really came down,cuz when i went to sleep around 11:30 not a flake was flying and im really not sure what we got with all these drifts everywhere-but its white out! Im ready for the January thaw now ;)
The winds here are north easterly and im not sure if that caused lake effect snow too, but no skool for many and power out for some in saginaw and flint today!

will get some pics when i wake up more and get my socks on LOL

We got about 3 inches last night.
It is grey out right now,but not snowing. This is what Christmas Day should have looked like.Have to chat with girlfriend and see how much Tawas has. I have a hair appointment,today. I also need to hit the dollar store down there.
We have been lucky all the storms that hit Michigan have really missed us.
Everyone in the worst of it , stay safe and warm..

Many schools closed here too - but many were already closed due to MLK day. Ice is melting off the slider door, so things are improving. All the snow they expected isn't coming (what's new....) I'm just snug as a bug in a rug...dishes done, bed made and now just thinking about cleaning!!

It is snowing to beat the band here again-Huge snowflakes-I know this is lake effect snow!

everything is white! The boys are happy as i imagine so are the slope(ski) people

We had freezing rain all night long but the temps have warmed up and no more ice:)

Here we have ice...major ice on the trees and grass..rained and froze all night..Still no ice in the lake though...Been answering all the emails..from the neighbors ...They want to know..we are the keeper of these houses around us..wish it would warm up a little... still 32...so no drips yet..the birds know ...for sure..there are about..a hundred on our feeders..hehe...lucky them...lol...Well think warm up...enough ice for now.. Sure would rather have snow..Oh.well...waving..

Well we finally got a dusting of snow, maybe l/2" or so but boy is it cold only 19 degrees.

Today the sun is shinning and its very brisk out. I had to take my youngest to school and I froze my hands trying to get the wipers uniced and moving! Left my gloves in the house of course and was in my PJ's to boot!(no boots)
I walked to the mailbox after to but the bill payments in the mailbox-croc shoes are not made for snow,,,brrrrrrr!

The snow is really pretty and glistening in the sun-so now can we have Jan thaw and then get on with spring! ;)
I dont have cabin fever yet-but i am feeling a little twinge!!!

I really need to get another table and lights set up in my grow room, but its been so darn cold the last few days I dont want to be down there long and im sure the seeds feel the same way ...LOL

I need to go out to the GH and gather some of my seeds to send off to their new homes-but now its cold and snowy!(good excuse)

Lets see----today----hmmmm--laundry,exercise,sing,dance,more laundry,sort daylily seeds and then i dont know!
Need to find a new project each day till i get caught up! ha haaaa ha
I guess we are going to paint and do new flooring in the kitchen-any color i want! hmmmmmm

So with all the catalogs rolling in what are you guys getting?
I only have daylilies ,lilies and hostas ordered so far, oh and some begonias from the CO-OP.
I dont even look at the seed catalogs anymore-just plants.
Did you get the Plants Delight Catalog? What did you think of the cover? plants are nice but ewww$$$$$$$$$$
I may have to get some bears breech this yr for the new shade gardens.

Sun is out and things are shining brightly!! Looks pretty, but the temps are at 14...brrr.

Of course I'll be watching American Idol tonight! Love it!! We've been watching the 'grease' one, but I don't like it nearly as much.

I was cleaning out the frig and found some DL seeds...from 2005 and some from 2006 that were sprouting!! I'll get those in soil today!! Still no seed starting. All the slips I took in the fall look so bad...I'm debating whether to pitch everything or try nurse them along. Those stinkin aphids will be the death of me yet!

Time to hit the road...Off to find stuff to make 'burp cloths!'

Hello all, cold cold and cold here. it snowed a little here yesterday afternoon for about 40/45 minutes but nothing stuck. Then around 11/11:30 last night we had those little icy snow flakes, my front deck is slick and still covered but the sun is shining the air is brisk and I am staying in :o) My RA has flared up and my joints just don't want to cooperate (very stiff). But all in all doing okay here in lower Mi. Just wish we would get some snow...

Sunny and cold here!
Going to clean the spare bedroom ,got a grandson coming for the weekend.DH has 15 gallons of wine working in there. He made 5 gal of fresh cranberry,5 gal of elderbery and 5of concord grape.
my thermometer in the greenhouse qwuit working,so now if I want the temp out there I have to walk out to check.
Hubby is going to order a weather station for me. He will be able to use it to ,too. He is a spotter for the weather service.

fuh fuh fuh-reezing.

i have the windows for the first time this year set and locked,
and the window blinds down and closed, to try and ease
the heat loss through them.

wood stove is burning merrily, thank god we have it. what
a blessed good thing it is. We have a small woodlot and
are managing it, and have lots of windfall from it too.
I adore the smell of the woodstove fire. Its so cozy!

I got my seeds from Baker Heirloom already. I got on the
stick and took care of what I needed right quickly, and got
what I wanted too.

I am going to try to do mostly plant trading and cuttings
this year, as we don't have the money for ordering any.

Dori I still have that rose for you in my front garden.
I will let you know if it makes it this winter, how about if
I just mail it to you come spring? Its hard for us to get
around, we have the one car and its getting old. (like us)

anyhow, keep warm folks. I stress about my horses, but
they love being outside! brrrrr.

today is bitter cold out and cloudy. Im glad we have snow here to protect the plants! I remember a few yrs back no snow and -20's for a month, I lost alot of flowers that yr! grrrrrr

Yesterday i got really dizzy and a bad headache, today my throat is scratchy and i still feel a tad funny!
Dont know what i will do today-did get one load of laundry done yesterday and ran the dishwasher!

Hi Wig Paw....cold up here too!! And my woodstove is roaring. Lucky you having a wood lot. We cut some downed wood in BIL fields, but man...it was too much work for me!! But we love having a toasty fire going. I shut all the blinds here last night too to keep the heat in.

I've had so many things sprout that spring may be a downer here for me...sob..

I started some more daylily seeds downstairs under lights and still have lots to go!
i feel good-think its just sinus infection-we all have it here!

Been snowing all day here - it's coming your day Dori. They said 3 inches, but we had at by noon! Looks real pretty - if it was Dec. 1st. I'm tired of it now.

I've been plagued with aphids all fall and cannot get rid of them. I'm going to toss everything I have out and start fresh with seeds. Hate to do it, but I can just see all my new sprouts covered with those nasty things.

Time to see what's in the frig to munch on!!

Right now outside here it is icy rain, but they say we are to get 1 to 3 inches of snow... I sure hope this ICE turns to snow. the roads are really getting slick...

I was out driving in that stuff yesterday! Daughter and I drove up to Alma College yesterday to check it out. Took us 2 1/2 hrs to get there. Snow and ice most of the way once we were north of Detroit. Then we drove on up to Mt. Pleasent to visit niece at Central Univ. Wow, snow cover! Several inches!! We were surprised! Took us 3 hrs. to get back ... I was one of those slow drivers in the right lane ... I don't like driving at night and definitly don't like it when there is freezing ice!!!

This morning we actually have about an inch snow cover! The first snow cover for us for this winter!

Hey, Alma College looked pretty nice. Nicer and bigger than we had imagined. Daughter has been accepted into U of M - Ann Arbor, MSU, and Alma. Now she just has to make up her mind!!!

Anyone here ever gone to Alma or knew anyone that did?

TA same here, I hate driving in icy weather, we have about an inch of snow here and it is still coming down but just a mist of snow, no heavy snow.

I keep waiting for the blizzard to hit lol...
Seems like we usually get hit with it hard at least once in Jan and Feb... I guess we will see.
