Denio, Nevada - anyone know the region?

Citra, FL(Zone 9a)

I'm thinking of taking a job there...anyone know anything about the area? Thank you!

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Hi Paws,

The only thing I know about that area is the fact that it
is in Humboldt county. ;-)

Right now it is 51° in Hoopa, while it is 32° in Denio,
so you'll need some warm clothing.

I noticed the temperature difference, too. I wear corduroy, turtlenecks, and silk long underwear here all winter, so I've got the warm clothes. Don't think I'll get to play in the dirt all through the winter.

Hoopa is Humboldt Co., too.

Thanks, Judy, but I don't have the job, yet.
I'll be leaving 6 dogs and a cat behind with a caretaker person.
Big decision.
:-)

I can't find much information about Denio.

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

ah.. will try that, and high and dry is what I'd imagined.

No trees I can handle, sort of. Now, lack of worms....

Some interesting info and photos about the general area of Humboldt and Pershing Counties. ie: Paradise Valley, the Great Basin + more .. here > http://www.ednapurviance.org/lovelock/greatbascover.html Several old school houses to be found and relished, to boot!
* And, if you so happen to be a Charlie Chaplin movie buff also; tis even more enjoyable. (hee) > http://www.ednapurviance.org/index.html

I'm sure you've seen these sites (for Nevada) > http://nvapps.state.nv.us/NEATS/Recruiting/SearchJobs.aep?selectedLocationId=0&searchText=&selectedCategoryId=4 .. and .. http://www.doe.nv.gov/licensing.html

Wishin' you the very best, 'pawsers' ..
