Enlarging DG print in your browser

Toone, TN(Zone 7a)

Ginger749 from Australia pointed this trick out and I thought I'd share. Great for aging eyes!

While you are on the Home page,
Hold the CTRL button down and
Scroll up & down with your mouse scroll wheel.
One way the page gets bigger,
And the other way it gets smaller.

I now have mine on the largest setting....so much easier on the eyes to see everything in bold print and a larger font!

That's good to know. In Firefox, CTRL + or CTRL - does the same thing. I think CTRL scroll is quicker and easier!

Oh, pooh! It doesn't work for me. What browser are you using, Carol?

I am using Internet Explorer
I tried Firefox but didn't like the small print, so perhaps I should try that again. LOL

Well I guess Yahoo messed up. They use IE, but they must have put it on their own platform. Doesn't work, and I KNOW I'm doing it right. How hard can your directions be? LOL

I just did it on Firefox too.

I am confused when you mention Yahoo. Perhaps you have a yahoo tool bar on your IE?
If the scroll doesn't work, try holding down the CTRL key and hitting the + key on your numberpad a few times..

Yes, you're absolutely right, Carol. I do have a Yahoo toolbar on my IE, and I think that's the problem. I also tried holding down the CTRL key and hitting the + key - no luck. This isn't the first time I've found Yahoo's browser and platform to be ineffective. I tried loading Google's toolbar on top of Yahoo's and that didn't work either. Worked just fine when I was with Earthlink, but going back to them would mean also going back to major problems.

oh, so sorry you couldn't get it to co-operate Marilyn. What a bummer! Of course you can always download the free Firefox, if you have the space.

Oh well....happy new gardening year in any case. Is it still raining buckets there?
carol

Marilyn, I know it's not as easy but can you go to View and text size?

My firefox Dave's is huge already! Don't even need my glasses!

Toone, TN(Zone 7a)

lol I think your way is easier elsie!

weegy12 then you could make it smaller if you'd rather. I did end up downsizing mine a bit on the regular moniter but this trick sure comes in handy for me on the widescreen monitor.

WOW, Elsie! I didn't even know that was there! Thank you! It works great!

Carol, thanks so much for trying so hard to help. I've been thinking about Firefox for quite a while - haven't made up my mind yet. The rain has gone for now, but it's still windy here - weather person says gusts 35-50mph, but I swear it was a lot higher than that most of last night. Right now it's sunny, but still blowing at about 35mph but the wind's supposed to be stopping by this evening. Glad I know I can look forward to some sunshine after a couple of days of rain, unlike when I lived in Oregon!

justfur, you're right, I held the ctrl button and poof! I now have a normal size but can still read it. It's a bolder type too. Thanks!

My pleasure. I was so happy about this I just had to share!

I'm using Windows (XP) and the control key shortcut works. But I can also go to the menu bar and click on "View" "text size" and select the size I want. It stays that size until I change it.
