Inventory and Trading lists

Alright, the journal and forums are just about finished with the rewrite, and at this point I'm requesting feature requests for the trading and inventory lists.

I've got my own ideas about ways to radically improve on these two features, but I want to hear your own first.

I'll be coding both of these simultaneously and very closely hooking them together and with the journals. You won't have to have a journal, of course, but if you do you'll enjoy better integration with your inventories and tradings.

I plan to start work on these Monday, so please lay out any features you want right here in this thread.

A place to type in the color might be nice. I don't think that you would want to have preselected because there are so many different shades of a color.

A way to post a " NOT TRADING @ PRESENT " , without deleting the list of names . Thanks Dave :)

I was thinking about color, height, sun, shade,etc. I've got them sorted now by perennial, annual, and other categories and can view them by status. Now deciding where to put them I could pull up all the short pink ones that are happy in the shade (annual, perennial, herb, vine, foliage, ornamental veggie (I'm sure there are lots of short pink shade loving ornamental veggies)). And, a red corvette would be nice too :)

It would be really useful if we could list the latin name before the common name or have a choice.

I will eventually have seeds, so I'd like plants and seeds on the same page (ie not having to link from one to the other).

Other than that, everything sounds good to me!

Dave, Would it be possible to leave the 'number of packs' area in the have lists either blank or be able to write in 'many' or something other then the numbers? The reason I ask is I collect tons of seeds from my plants every year. Too many to package up all at once. I wait to see if I have requests for them before I package any up.

Chooch - You could put your 'Not trading at present' information as a Note from Chooch using the Preferences option already there. Or leave the number of packets at 0. I'm pretty sure that whatever you do, people will still write and ask you to trade so long as you have a list of interesting names there!
