Kelli, I used to live in CP for 6 years. I managed an apartment on the corner of Saticoy and Eton.
Where Am I? - Part 6
Yay!... I wonder if snipe has re-sized that picture
Claypa what made you go to Pa. ? I use to live in Ohio and have a lot of family in Pa.
I've been everywhere, ma'am
crossed the deserts bare, ma'am
breathed the mountain air, ma'am
travel, I've had my share ma'am
I've been everywhere...
I don't have the numbered keypad to add little musical notes, use your imagination
I came here for a job and met a woman I plan to marry, hopefully I can convince her to at least consider moving

frequently and everywhere? Are you a ramblin man? Woman in general like roots, somewhere. Speaking as one. My mom liked the idea of moving but dad did not. so???
Well, not everywhere, but almost. I like the 6b zone here, but the yard is pretty small
I'll d-mail ya the gory details, and edit my other post
Hellnzn11, I am in the vicinity of Roscoe and Shoup, which can also be called West Hills, but I think that is a boring name so I usually use Canoga Park. I'm not out to impress anyone. ;-) (For those who don't know - which would be most of you - West Hills is considered more "upscale" than Canoga Park. There is a section of several blocks that can go by either name. Neither place is an independent city. They're both part of Los Angeles. This confuses my PA relatives no end.)
Roscoe sounds familiar. That's one of those loooong streets that goes all the way to North Hollywood. I lived near Laurel Canyon and Van Owen. Talk about impressive! You could almost reach up and touch the airplanes in and out of Burbank 'International' airport. LOL!
Yep, Roscoe is one of those streets that goes the whole way across the Valley. So does Vanowen. We are at the other end of the Valley from the Burbank Airport but planes from the north fly over us - not close enough to be noisy but close enough that you can see what colors they are.
Hellnzn, should not make sweeping statements such as _"women in general like roots"_
I too, have been here and there and almost everywhere. I love ramblin' and trying new places. I spent a lotta years in NYS, born, raised, married, raised kids - BUT - always with TRIPS to ease the monotony. have traveled the eastern seaboard and sampled the beaches from Maine to Florida. the same is true of the coast of northern Cal and Oregon -- and on and on and on. By bus, thumb and my own vehicle - I've covered a bunch of this country and plan on seeing more.
I used to be the one that tried to get my DH to consider moving to other places - really wanted us to try Alaska when the kids were little. But he was the rooted one and never lived more than 60 miles from his hometown.
Came the day I put my itchy feet under me and hit the road. Yes, I found my piece of heaven here in this high desert town, - it is closest to the red rocks that are truly my ''home''. But the lure of places I've seen and want to see again, and places I've yet to see is the strongest part of me. ~Blooms
kelli - that was great - I used Googe Earth and had a grand tour of the area...
I found a photo from a few years ago of the hot springs south of Bishop; would mind if I posted?

I love google earth. Hey do not offend over that comment, they taught us that in church about woman and roots that is why I had the disclaimer that my mom loved the idea of moving. She said she`d love to have been a career military wife for that reason alone. I think it is so cool if you can make that work. We all love this site, I think in part because we are that much closer to the whole US, we can get a taste of it all.
wasn't none taken,,, good heavens no... just wanted to add my 2 cents worth LOL
Go ahead and post your picture, Kiska. I'd like to see it.
I was working in Northridge till lately. I love west hills. Canoga changed a lot from when I lived there. I am not one to be trying to impress either. I use to go to church in WH too. Bishop is nice. My friends grandma has hot springs on her land, the Indians gave her a hundred year land lease.
