kelli - is it in Calif.?
kiska
Kiska, I googled California hot springs and there's this book on hot springs that came up and I think it has this hot spring on the cover. Just no way to find it's name on that page. Izzit in California? if not, izzzit in Nevada?
It is in California.
Is it Northern Calif - Lassen Park?
kiska
I guess you'd call it northern California, but it isn't Lassen.
Up in the Lone Pine area?
Getting somewhat closer.
Somewhere along the Kern River?
oops I already guessed that didn't I

Grover Hot Springs?
Not along the Kern River (don't know if that was guessed before or not). Not Grover Hot Springs.
Bishop area?
kiska
Getting closer.
Kelli- a few years ago, when in Bishop, we went to the hot springs south of town..you just walked out into the sagebrush till you found the one you wanted, and jumped in. There were many there, but no cliffs like in the photo...so - if it's near Bishop, is it further SE? Toward Bristlecones?
kiska
North of Bishop.
Leevining?
kiska
South of there.
along the Owens River?
It runs into the Owens River eventually.
Travertine, on Hot Creek? which may or may not run into the Owens, I can't tell
Hot Creek is sufficient. It is Hot Creek.
LOL I did it! And found a place I'd love to visit. with directions to get there.
Well done! That one was kinda hard.
I loved it....I just read that LA is going to be re-diverting water back into the Owens river... my grandmother loved to fish the Owens and did till she was well into her 80's...Bishop was once a gorgeous green valley, maybe some of that will return..
kiska
They had the funniest sign there, though I doubt it was meant to be funny. It was a "no nude bathing" sign done in international sign style. The figures were simplified something like restroom figures. It had a woman holding a bikini and a man holding swimming trunks with circle around it all and a slash through it. I wish I had taken a picture of that.
Palm Canyon? the one in the Anza Borrego
This message was edited Dec 6, 2006 9:47 PM
No, not there.
Palm Canyon?
oop, gues not...Andreas?
This message was edited Dec 6, 2006 11:54 PM
Since you guessed Andreas, then I assume that the Palm Canyon that you first mentioned is the Palm Canyon near Palm Springs, as opposed to the Palm Canyon in Anza Borrego. It is the Palm Canyon of Palm Springs. (That was too easy but what should I expect. If a hot creek was Hot Creek then a palm canyon would be Palm Canyon.)
There sure aren't too many places that look like that! I used to go to Joshua Tree a lot when I lived out there. I don't know Anza Borrego, I'll have to look that up
Yay!
Let me try it this way, is it in Riverside County?
All the time I was out there, I never made it south of Interstate 10, except around 'The OC' lol
