Hello All you fine friends, I need some help...my daughter is about to turn 13 in january and i want to have her a party, however I have no idea on what to do. She mentioned having it at McDonalds...i said there honey, you will be 13 dont you wanna do something special.
Does anyone out here have any idears on what we possibly do to make this day special. We live in a very small town and not much to do. Thought about taking her and some friends to a skating rink, how does that sound?
Please let me know what you all did when your youngin turned 13.

Thanks so much,
Char

My daughter loved the skating parties. We also went bowling and had movie parties. Sometimes craft and hobbie stores will host parties as well. If there is a Michael's near you check with the manager about a jewelry making party or a t shirt painting party.

What we did for a few teen birthdays is find someplace where we could set up a CD player so the kids could dance. We had to chaperone them of course, but they enjoyed it. We also had cake, snacks and pop. One year we rented a room at the local community center, and one year we got to use a restaurant that was closed on Sundays, so we had it on Sunday. We just had to put the tables back and clean up our mess.

I have 3 daughters, we have done the skating rink, last year was a bowling party, we have done a pizza hut party, and we have gone to the movies and out for pizza afterwards. Another thing they liked would be to take her and a couple friends "to the mall", the friends would bring their own money....and then back to home for pizza, cake, ice cream. When my oldest turned 16, we did the mall...where she went to get her ears pierced for the first time...with her friends for support.

My girls are now 16, almost 21 and 23. And we still have a fun celebration of somekind each year.

Good luck!

RedPrincess~ I'm currently working on a murder mystery theme party for my #1 girly pumpkin, her idea. Her friends will be given parts to play at the party, but suggestions of what to wear with their invitation, ie. the professor- a big book, round glasses and a suit. We just had a drive in movie theme party for the the little girly pumpkins. We decorated inside our garage with lawn chairs and tables and DH played a new release on his projector against the wall. Made some fun snacks and enjoyed the "big screen!" It was loads of fun that our other pumpkins and their friends came as well. We had a backyard campfire theme a few years ago. Firepit or a grill will do, with a tent, hotdogs, beans so'mores and whatever for the "grub" We did line dancing, everybody wore jeans and we made fancy beaded bandanas, which proved to be a big hit as well. If it's too cold you can "pitch" a tent in the garage or basement and make props or buy them. Also we played stomp the snake ( with the long balloons) and everyone received a cowboy hat upon arrival. Long story short, be creative, have fun and make a memorable birthday occassion. ;0)

Nothing more fun than a bowling alley full of girls with matching T-shirts
having a birthday bash. Surely Hobby Lobby will have a sale by January
on their T's, which come in many fun colors. To make it even more fun,
you could buy matching or complimentary bandanas, which they could
wear in their hair, as belts, around their heads, etc. Heck, it would be
fun just sitting around looking so cool!

;-) Sounds like fun, wish her a happy one from all of us!

Can you can rent a karaoke machine that projects pictures of the kids onto the tv screen while they sing? They have a ball watching themselves clown around.

My niece love to make jewelery. How about a home party with lots of beads, wire and fasteners. They could all show their individuality. Don't forget to add cupcakes and cokes. They could even decorate their own cupcakes if you had a bunch of those little tubes of cake decorating stuff from the grocery store.

The latest thing that the girls are doing where I live is called a spa party. It consist of just a few close friends and they spend the day getting their nails and hair done. Then they go and have a tea party all dressed up. So many options that I'm sure it will be a special day for her no matter what you do.
