heeling plants in

No partridge in a pear tree?

Looking back it's easy enough to say I shouldn't have let it go that long but when the foliage isn't even visible the jobs seem to remain hidden. That was clump #2. I still had clump #1 out of the ground, in addition to the bag of pink daffodils I bought. Then the crocuses I found, the endless mountains of muscari....... I'll be thrilled to see a foot of snow.

jjpm - are you planning to plant a drift of tulips? They look so nice that way and their foliage dies down faster than the daffodils - about a month and it's turned brown and can be removed without harm to the bulb. They're easier to plant in a big drift, too.

Pirl--

I'm planning to add to an existing drift I started last year. I have the area dug out already. I just have to lay the bulbs in and cover them. Yours look great!

Pirl, no wonder your bulbs do so good, all that compost. I'm with you, I'm almost looking forward to snow, so I don't have to work out there for awhile.

And you are certainly more on top of things than me. I never remember to separate the bulbs.

Thanks, John!

Polly - I waited 13 or 14 years and you think I'm somehow more on top of things? Bless you!
